Rabbits often do eat more hay if it is in different places around their area. It’s a more natural way for them to forage for food. Also, found hay often trumps given hay!

He definitely seems to know that’s the bathroom spot and the lid probably has him confused… off the top of my head, the easiest thing I can think of is to slide the litter box under a taller piece of furniture so that it’s not in the open but too high for the bun to be wanting to jump on top
