I agree. She/He seems like a younger rabbit that still has some growing to do. Those rabbit very often have the look of needing to “grow into their ears” lol.
to me, he/she looks more finer-boned then I’d expect a Flemish to be. Even a young one.She sort it has the colouration of American Sable (breed) but that’s not always an indicator of a br…[Read more]

Bunniesareamazing started the topic Vegetable variety, how often should I give? in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 1 month ago
Hello!
So as you guys may know, rabbits should eat a variety of vegetables right? The thing is, is that some vegetables are higher in oxalates or calcium and those vegetables are recommended to give less frequently to prevent harm to the bunny. I wanted to ask if it would be safe to give these high oxalate/calcium vegetables everyday but in a…[Read more]

Which litter do you use? My bunny loves digging in paper bedding. I would recommend maybe switching litter and making a separate dig box with the litter she likes to dig in. If she’s still big on digging I’d just get a litterbox with high sides to prevent it from going everywhere. You could also get a dig mat maybe? I would introduce more met…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Kale and forget me not in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 1 month ago
Kale is fine to feed daily as long as it’s agreeing with your buns. I wouldn’t feed it as the bulk of their salad because has higher calcium, and I’d keep an eye on their pee. If you start noticing a ton of calcium in their pee (or it looks a little sludgey) you should reduce the amount. Some buns can also get a bit gassy from kale, but many do…[Read more]

Hello! I got a new litter box which I was hopeful would stop my bunny from digging. Well, it didn’t :/ and I can’t think of anything to try to stop her. Do you guys have any ideas?

Hi, I feed my bunnies kale every day but there are mixed things I have been finding about it. Is it ok to feed kale every day? Can I feed it to them at all? Also, I got forget me not flowers from the store and was unsure if they could eat them. I read online that they can but in some forage, I find forget me not.

Looks like a Netherland mix or false Netherland. My false Netherland dwarf is fluffy because he is a baby so at this age, you can’t really tell by the coat. Defiantly adorable!!! Also, tractor supply sells bunnies??

You could also stack it and put one of the bunnies cage on top of the other.

Cinnimon&Ollie replied to the topic Recommendation for a carrier for two buns in the forum HABITATS AND TOYS 4 years, 1 month ago
I have a top-loading small dog midwest one. I like it a lot. It loads from the top which is really helpful for my runner. I would make sure it is hard-sided because it is safer. You could also try putting some bananas in the carrier or some other treat to help them go in.

Sounds like a good plan! I’m glad she found a home. 🙂 I’m sure they will enjoy each others company as neighbors, even if they can’t be bonded.

Yes that sounds pretty normal, as long as the skin isn’t flaky or scaly.

If you aren’t sure and it’s a new bun, one way to check is to offer a handful of hay first. if the bun takes a piece, they are feeling fine. If they snub the hay, you can try a favorite green. If they turn that down, you can try a treat. If they turn down any of the food, they are not feeling well, and if they even turn down a treat you know they…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic should I screen for EC in Bun Jovi? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 1 month ago
Thank you! Yeah when I heard all the staff acting so surprised (and doubtful) that Bun Jovi was 13 it didn’t give me a great feeling. Like I know most rabbits don’t make it past 12, but it mostly indicates that the practice as a whole doesn’t see a lot of rabbits. IMO, having the technicians be experienced with buns is just as important as the vet!

I dont know what went wrong, I can’t find a post from you that needs moderator approval.
I fed my Vilde 5-6 times per day (no feedings during the night) when he was acutely ill, then when he was stable, I reduced to 3 feedings, then two.
If Owen gnaws on hard things like enclosure bars, he could’ve chipped a teeth. Rabbit teeth of course grow…[Read more]

I have no experience with elder buns, but the vet saying 5 – 6 years is the average age would have been a red flag for me. My vet went into great detail how bins could easily live to 12 years and more, and that was being pushed by a better understanding on how to treat them.
Hope Bun Jovi is able to find good management for his pain and you find…[Read more]
