Hi, I feed my bunnies kale every day but there are mixed things I have been finding about it. Is it ok to feed kale every day? Can I feed it to them at all? Also, I got forget me not flowers from the store and was unsure if they could eat them. I read online that they can but in some forage, I find forget me not.

Kale is fine to feed daily as long as it’s agreeing with your buns. I wouldn’t feed it as the bulk of their salad because has higher calcium,  and I’d keep an eye on their pee. If you start noticing a ton of calcium in their pee (or it looks a little sludgey) you should reduce the amount. Some buns can also get a bit gassy from kale, but many do not. It’s very high fiber and nutritious.

I’m not sure about the flowers though. They are listed as non-toxic/safe on a few lists I see online, but if they were sold as cut flowers I wouldn’t feed them because sometimes cut flowers are treated with various preservatives.

I feed mine kale with no issues. Both Lacinato kale and purple kale. My girl is about 10-11 pounds and in her salad gets 2-3 pieces of either type, I switch off on days so she doesnt get bored. But kale and dandelion greens are her favorite haha.

Thank you guys for posting this thread, so helpful. I was just wondering this myself. My bun is CRAZY about kale, it is her absolute favorite, and I’d been wondering if I could just feed kale as her main green daily. Had no idea it had higher calcium levels, I think I’ll start switching it out a bit more
