Hi! I wouldn’t really about “how old is too old”. The main point should be getting it spayed or neutered asap to reduce the chances of cancer!

My older half sister got rabbits around the same time that I did (5 years ago for Easter. We did a ton of research first.). And she was wondering how old would be considered too old to spay/neuter her rabbits. She got hers from being rehomed and I got mine from a rescue. Mine were already spayed/neutered so I don’t have to worry. It seems like…[Read more]

I hope this works this time. So sorry for the late reply. I was watching something on TV and there was plates/silverware clinking against each other and it wasn’t too loud. And Bramble thumped. I haven’t had an issue with him thumping before and I still question his hearing. But I guess if he heard that then is hearing should be fine right?

Zhu: Netherland dwarf, Female, 2 years old, spayed at 6 months
Mo: Holland Lop, Female, 2 years old, spayed at 6 months
Its been 2 years since I’ve last tried to bond them. Since my last post I have taken them to a professional bonder and they stayed there for almost a month just for their bond to break a couple months after. And I…[Read more]

Hello, thanks for taking the time to read this!
I have a bonded pair. One I have had for two years, the other for a year and a half.
I love them very much.
This summer I am going away on an archeology field school for 51 days. So a little under two months.
I have been with my bunnies very often, other than going to university classes during the…[Read more] -
BZOO replied to the topic What kind of pellets should I give? in the forum DIET & CARE 2 years, 10 months ago
Many good brands. Just avoid ones with fillers (corn, wheat, soy, etc.). And the types with all the “goodies”.
Also, it’s surprising how many pet foods contain sugar…why? Obviously those aren’t good at all.

I did a second session with the boys today, and had the barrier again. We stayed about 2.5 hours and was pretty uneventful. Maxwell did seem nervous, and they only sniffed noses once through the gate and there was no aggression.
It’s been about an hour and they are laying next to each other (against fence) back in their regular spaces! I’m…[Read more]

Yes, the flooring is going to be what she is familiar with and, therefore, what makes her feel secure. For fun, could you make a trail of mat pieces that leads out of the pen and over to you? She might be more willing to explore if the flooring feels the same.
I agree that she looks happy. As bunnies grow older, we have to make adjustments. We…[Read more]

Flooring is definitely key for rabbits who cannot see so they can feel secure. Keeping the floor somewhat clear and having things consistent can also be important. As Bam asked, what has been bothering you specifically?

It looks like she’s been busy bunstructing newspaper? Her resting position looks relaxed. The left leg isnt straight, I dont know if it’s always crooked or if it just happened to be like that when your dad took the picture? Anyway, an unhappy rabbit wouldnt rest in that position. From what I can see, her weight seems healthy.
It could be that she…[Read more]

Hi there! My 9-year-old, blind, senile rabbit Jumping Jack is losing her mind, and making me lose my mind
Jumping Jack can’t get out of her pen to play. Not because we’re doing something wrong. But as I said earlier, she’s blind, so she doesn’t like to leave her pen. She just sits there, eats hay, plays with her toys, and sleeps. If I’m playing…[Read more]

I created a new area for the boys, and split in half. Put down some foam mats and all their stuff at the barrier. Food, water and new cat scratching pads since they both love to chew on those. I used my large walk in closet. I’m about to finish the first session with them, and my initial thought is that it’s going to be helpful. Keeping it to…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic Trio bonding… again (Myra, Bonnie, Cooper) in the forum BONDING 2 years, 11 months ago
I think it will be fine if it is just temporary. Hopefully you can at least get Bonnie and Cooper back together. Do you think Bonnie and Cooper understand that Bun Jovi is gone? Perhaps Myra is still grieving and her energy is different. Maybe she isn’t open to having a relationship with another bunny… let alone two.

LBJ10 replied to the topic Now my bunny has bloat… in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 2 years, 11 months ago
Have you ever felt bloated? When a human has a lot of gas build up, they may feel uncomfortable bending over, etc. I imagine it would be the same for a bunny. If his tummy is round and distended a bit, it may be uncomfortable for him to reach down there to clean himself. As Bam said, sticky poop is a symptom of a gut imbalance. I would suggest…[Read more]
