This website says Washington State is home to 8 different species of lagomorphs: https://www.paws.org/index.php/wildlife/having-a-wildlife-problem/mammals/rabbits/ As for domestic rabbits, any breed or mix of breeds can have agouti coloring.
Honestly, this doesn’t sound like a reasonable plan. How will the rabbits be fed every day? How will you know if they have water? Since we are a house rabbit forum, we are always going to advocate for rabbits being housed indoors. However, I am not even considering the fact that they would be housed outdoors when I evaluated this plan. I’m really…[Read more]
This is a good question. I suppose there is a small risk… but most rabbits infected with bordetella exhibit no symptoms. The same can be said for pasteurella. Many rabbits have these types of bacteria in their respiratory tract and never become ill. When there are symptoms, it is usually pasteurella and not bordetella… although the two…[Read more]
Yes, cottontails and European rabbits do not produce viable offspring. However, there are some documented cases of hybridization with hares (e.g. Snowshoe Hare x European Rabbit). Depending on where you are, there are several species of cottontail found in different parts of the North America. For example, there is a marsh cottontail found in…[Read more]
It should work. I have one meant for cats and I can use it on Leopold, who has normal fur. He doesn’t seem to mind it, but he also isn’t one to sit still willingly to be brushed. I just delicately go over his back and sides with it. I don’t dig down or anything.

That means females can become pregnant almost immediately after giving birth. As for the frantic nesting, it isn’t unusual for first time mothers to be confused. I’m assuming she didn’t have much…[Read more]
Although bad teeth and bad roots often go hand-in-hand, it isn’t always the case. One of mine has perfect teeth. The vet can’t get over how great they look, even for his age. But he has had tooth root problems for many years now. Something to consider, for sure. Another though, is your bunny a dwarf breed? Sometimes a smooshed face can cause a…[Read more]

I agree with Bam. If one of the babies has this, then it is what it is. There is nothing “wrong” with him. It wasn’t anything that you did that caused it. There are not going to be very many people here that will be able to help you with breeding questions since we are a house rabbit forum and we encourage spaying/neutering. Rabbits Online is a…[Read more]
