It’s probably just because your mom is a new human and she’s in a new place. Some buns also thump more than others, and often at things we can’t actually hear. Having your mom speak quietly to her when she’s around and hand feeding some treats will probably work wonders. She will also probably get more used to the sounds at your home and will…[Read more]

I checked the disabled rabbits website. They have an article on sore hocks and recommend buying infant socks to help.
On the medirabbit.com, there is a page regarding sore hocks and it says you can contact the author of the article to get custom made socks. I don’t know if this offer is still valid or not. Scroll down to the bottom of the p…[Read more]

Karou is a mini rex and prone to sore hocks. She was checked by the vet a couple weeks ago and will be going back tomorrow as the sores have gotten worse. The first visit I was told to keep an eye on the sores. I do have a list from medirabbit on recommended creams for sore hocks. Since this is a breed issue, I’m planning to get her some socks for…[Read more]

I don’t think it’s a health issue, I think Achilles is is just asserting his ownership of you. This is a bunny compliment, but it’s not really how we humans are used to perceive peeing 🤪 If your tinder date is ok with sitting on a blanket, it could probably save you some work.

So – have to put the Hopes for a Quad on the back burner for now.
Had 2 single dates that went kinda crappy – Mango attacked Sunny a couple times but we calmed it down. Kiwi was a little nippy both times because the enclosure was too small (not hard nip – basically warnings of “don’t get too close to me right now”) – she did the same thing in…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic Is it too soon to vacuum? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 11 months ago
I think it’s ok. You’ll see if she freaks when you turn the vacuum on. If so, you can turn it off and relocate her to another room for the duration?
If she was a shelter bun she must have become rather used to all kinds of noises. Not all buns are scared of the vacuum. My bun always comes to investigate when I vacuum.

Hi guys!
Ive had my bun for a week now, and I’ve been putting off vacuuming as to not stress her out. The hay situation in my room has become quite bad, and my mom is getting a little annoyed. Is it too soon to vacuum or am I okay to go? If it’s fine how should I go about it? Her pen is open all day so I was figuring I’d vacuum around dinne…[Read more]

I’ve been testing hay in his litter box, and I think he prefers it to hay in a rack above his box.
The guineas’s cage is adjacent to his playpen, so when he is having floor time, he’ll hop over. Stand on his toes, and eat their hay through the playpen. The hay racks have an open top, and are open towards the inside of the cage. He has to reach…[Read more]

She seems pretty distressed.
Is there any chance she could be pregnant?
I ask because the only rabbit I’ve come across that was this vocal was pregnant.

Are you able to cover the top of the playpen with a bedsheet or blankets? That works with my bunnies, they don’t even try to escape it. I use heavy duty clothing pins from the dollar store and some binder clips to attach the blankets (dollar store blankets too).
Oh and do you mean outside the hutch or outside like outside the house?
And I’m not…[Read more]

Yeah, I have an ex pen I can use. Using different sounds is a cool idea!
I will definitely have to see what other puzzles I can find for her. I looked at some that are designed for cats, but I didn’t think about ones for dogs!
Thank you for these suggestions! 🙂

She did it again this morning. My dog had just been barking a bit (it doesn’t usually bother her as long as they are in different rooms). She’d already had her breakfast so that’s not it. Nothing else was really different. The gravel pit across the street is going again but it has since Monday. Any ideas? Is she stressed then?
