Are the “bad” poops characteristically different than poops that are mis-shapen in one way or another due to fur? With him and his bonded mate being  lionheads, I am not surprised there are common occurrences of furry poops. It can be seen as positive to know that 1) your rabbit is ingesting more fur than what one would typically expect, and 2)…[Read more]

Hello everyone! I have two free roam bonded rabbits (Addie MN 2y/o and Esther FS 4y/o) My boyfriend has a cat that is a little over a year old and we will likely move in together at some point in the future. I am worried about how to have a cat and rabbits living in the same household. His cat is pretty timid and a very sweet boy but I don’t k…[Read more]

Oh yes he does get whatever he wants. He is the cutest little begger! He had his first veggie a few weeks ago (romaine) and took it very well and can eat half a leaf now! He loves it! And as always, he’s still a pig when it comes to hay, hay, and more hay. I’m going to feel really bad when it comes time to take away his alfalfa hay. He abs…[Read more]

    Hi people,

I am so happy with my bunny, he just turned 4 months old and already he is potty trained, pretty much. In his “bunny room” he only pees in his litter box area which has puppy pad covering it, and hay for him to munch on. He LOVES  2nd cut hay, he is happy and quite often he does these hilarious jumps and twists like he is trying out…[Read more]

    Misshapen poos

    Hi everyone,

So I have a rabbit with digestive issues. Going back to where this all started. Sparky is 2 1/2 years old and he has been with me since he was 12 weeks old. He is a double maned lionhead cross with angora so has very long fur. Ever since I’ve had him he has had issues with having string together poops despite me brushing him as…[Read more]

@Hazel:  Still running antibiotics.  They seems to be helping.  Her interval between seizures has opened up to 5 days, instead of every other day, so I’m hoping we’re killing it off.  He ran some fecal tests, and while I can’t remember what he called it, seems to think it’s a flea born infection that’s a SOB to kill off without killing the rab…[Read more]

Okay thanks! I haven’t done it yet but I think I will tonight.

    @Moonlightbunny66

Hehe. I know. I’m going to be picking up any of the huge pieces and vacuuming the smaller ones. I’m using our old vacuum- so no one will miss it if it breaks 😛

Yay! Didn’t realize you were Canadian too.

My house is starting to get colder too (the hoodies are coming out again!). I was looking into making a snug a bun thing too to keep Esther warm. Right now she’s got lots of fleece, which she does dig and chew, so I’m just watching that she doesn’t eat too much. It’s been a week and all seems well. I t…[Read more]

Be careful cause hay can clog up the vacuum quick lol! You could try sweeping but I don’t know how well that would work on carpet.

That’s tough because it’s hay… unfortunately I can only think of cutting out the spoiled bits or making sure it dries. Since it’s hay, it can still mold when getting wet after a while.

Thanks guys lol. For some reason Pinky decided that the farm hay is good today, and has been stuffing his mouth with it. He climbed up to eat out of the hay box so I put some in his litter box to see if he would eat it and he’s eating it right now… We’ll see how long this lasts!

It’s finally getting colder here in Canada, it’s fall! 🙂 I want to know if anyone has tips on how to keep bunnies warm when it’s colder. My bunnies do not live or go outside, but it gets cold upstairs when it’s cold outside. I’m hoping my bunnies won’t take too long to bond, and will snuggle to keep each other warm. But, right now I just felt P…[Read more]

All 4 of my brats are caged at night. During the day, they rule the house and yard. I took the photos of them before turning them loose. At night, my daughter’s cats run the house and the dogs have the yard. Night time and vet visits and bad weather are the only times they are in cages. By bad weather, I mean hurricanes or tornadoes. The cages are…[Read more]

I second the dry herbs and weeds approach! When I had a poopy butt-prone bun (Bam, the bun in my avatar), I dried pretty much everything for him, except grass which he only ate fresh, his tummy tolerated that.

Sometimes there are good offers on dehydrators, you don’t need anything fancy for drying bunny herbs and greens (its mostly if you plan on…[Read more]
