It’s pretty much impossible to teach rabbits not to chew wires. It is in their nature and those wires in particular are so thin that even a nip without intention to break would still damage them. You must keep the wires out of reach of your rabbits.

Hi everybody
My rabbit just jumped onto the sofa and decided to eat My earphone cable!! He has also chewed through two iPad leads and a lamp cable; we find that cable protectors are too hard to put on. So what should I do to stop him chewing??

I’m glad you got a proper diagnosis so you know what you are dealing with.
Amputation sounds a bit drastic to me, especially since he doesnt seem to be in pain, and he has regained quite a bit of function in the affected limb. It may be that the foot will always point out to the side, but that doesn’t have to be a disaster. Did the vet and you…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic PLEASE HELP): Wet Bunny nose in the forum BEHAVIOR 5 years ago
A little wet nose is as a rule tot a sign of a problem. Since healthy rabbits only breathe through their noses, not through their mouths, moisture in the air may condense around the nostrils, especially when the rabbit has been physically active, or if the ambient air is humid.
What you dont want to see is snot around the nostrils or felted hair…[Read more]

So i’ve been worried because my baby has had a little wet nose. Its a little under her nose and it doesn’t seem like thick mucous but it definitely isnt dry and i’ve taken her to vets for other problems like her itching ears and i got her spayed recently and they see her nose and say nothing. At this point i dont know if the vets just want me to…[Read more]

Hi folks, my husband took our rabbit to the new vet today and I’m here to update. BTW, my rabbit’s name is Richard.
The new vet clinic looks more professional than the old one. The vet x-rayed Richard’s swollen back leg and find the left ankle dislocated. I quote from the instruction: “There is still a significant amount of swelling in the area.…[Read more]

How is he now? Were you able to syringe feed him or give him some simethicone?

Also I forgot to add that she does creep up at him and when he looks at her she darts away. I don’t know if she is teasing him or scared of him, but I think she is scared of him. It is a good thing she is faster than him.

My vet does sanitary shaves without sedation… but I suppose it depends on the bunny and if they will remain still or not. She doesn’t shave too close either. Anyway, sometimes it’s better to just “start over” by having it shaved.

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Flaky ears in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years ago
Yes, rabbits will molt ear fur too, though it’s usually not as noticeable because the fur is so short. I think your new vet’s explanation is very plausible– it takes a while for rabbit skin to get back to norm after something happening, and flaking tends to be a natural part of that process, just like with humans.

Dollar tree has cat scratchers (just the cardboard) that last my bunnies a while). I have a destroyer and a laid back bunny as while. Oxbow play garden is also great. Apple sticks are good too.

Cookie has a pet park. Normally pretty high and didn’t jump at all. Nut he started jumping out of the pet park for the first time since he started sleeping in that room next to us. I’m also afraid that he will break his leg because he is high. I have no idea how he managed to jump from this high place 3 times in a row. I am also afraid that he…[Read more]

I am bonding my two bunnies cinnimon and Ollie. Things seemed to be going great. Until Ollie started chasing and nipping cinnimon. He ripped tufts of fur from her. Cinnimon is now really nervous of him when I have them out. She runs away from him. She stops eat when he comes near her and she runs. ( I put food out when they are bonding). I don’t k…[Read more]

When I had to syringe feed my bunny I put banana on the tip of the syringe which helped a lot. As soon as you can I would take him to the vet. If he starts eating again like normal then you don’t need too. Is he drinking water?

I am not sure what it is, but I would take him/her to the vet. It could be nothing but just in case.
