I should also add that I am now back to work so I am not able to be home with her all day. If she doesn’t start doing better over this weekend, I don’t know what to do on Monday.

Hi there everyone. Thank you so much for your kind words, advice and shared experiences. Rue is still not doing well and has been to the vet 3x in the last week, once to a rabbit savvy emergency vet, and twice to the regular vet. She had and exam and X-rays done at the emergency vet and they both were normal. She also go fluids there as well since…[Read more]

Plumped Cuddly Bunnies started the topic Local pet shop selling rabbits for 150 pounds in the forum THE LOUNGE 2 years, 10 months ago
My local pet shop has had two lion head bunnies in there for nearly 3 months with a price tag of 150 pounds and they are kept in a tiny cage together. I think pet shops should be banned from selling rabbits when there are so many in rescue and there is no need for people to be breeding rabbits for the pet trade because for one, there is no money…[Read more]

Hey all! How’s it going?
Yesterday my brother put a soccer ball in my rabbit’s pen. She cuddled up with it and pretended it was another rabbit. She didn’t seem to want to chew it
I was wondering, would it be safe to put a soccer ball or a football or something if the sort in her pen? She doesn’t want to chew it, but will she have the desire to…[Read more]

We went to an open inspection of a rental today. We’ve been to a few already and there’s been a reasonable number of people, but I was not prepared for the almost 30 groups that were there today. I know it’s because the location is better than the previous ones we’ve been to, but wow. We’ve applied but who knows what our chances are.
I also…[Read more]

Yes, thank you! I’ve been through this with him many times before but never when he was bonded, so that added a layer of concern. I’ve also never seen him poop like that after previous stasis episodes, so it freaked me out a bit. He’s fully back to normal in terms of activity, eating, and pooping. Thank you for the reassurance!

Hi,
I have 3 bunnies all from the same litter, they are 7 years old; Billy (M), Clover (F), and Cleopatra (F). They are normally housed outdoors (brought inside if it is too hot or cold, we are in Australia) in a great enclosure (toys, insulation, heated mats, etc.) and get daily supervised access to run around the garden. The two girls broke…[Read more]

The first couple poops following suboptimal eating/pooping will usually always be weird, so I would not be overly concerned that the first is pretty mushy. That can be a natural consequence of what the GI produced during the episode. I’m glad he passed something!
If he is perking up and begins eating hay on his own, it is likely OK to continue to…[Read more]

Thats good to know that if its not regular than its probably just random. I feel myself getting more and more paranoid about them as they are 5 and a half now, I know thats about middle age but I can’t help it!
So we’ve had another one today :/ you can see in the photo, there is much more than last time and more cecotropey than poop but still two…[Read more]

Ok so has just pooped but it’s a an incredibly soft, gelatinous glob of poop about the size of a half quarter. It holds together so I’m hoping it’s not diarrhea. Is this just his system moving again? Or is this a bad sign and I should take him in? I’ve never had this happen with his previous gi issues but he seems to be perking up a bit and c…[Read more]

Thank you for your reply!
That makes me feel much better! I was worried the gas was a bad sign, especially the fart. I woke today and she has pooped a bit more, not much, but I’m going to take it! I also gave her some more pain medicine as I have some for 5 days post op from my vet. If she doesn’t seem to be in pain (no grinding anymore, and…[Read more]

My boys are litter box trained. Recently one of my rabbits decided to move his litter box away from his hay and in the middle of his cage and he likes to lay in his litter box. I clean their litter boxes daily. Any idea as to why he is suddenly doing this?

Hi All,
My bunny is going through a bout of gas/start of stasis for the first time in well over a year (the entirety of his bond to my girl). I gave metcam and have been doing gas meds, giving gas massages, and am trying to get down CC. He does this annoying thing were he almost blocks his throat and pushes the CC out no matter how far back I pu…[Read more]

As you say, her tummy is out of whack due to the spay (full anesthesia, a invasive surgery, probably an opiod painkiller and not as much food as normal). Id say keep an eye. She is eating, and it seems a good amount too, she is active and doesnt appear to be in pain. Weirdly shaped poop and some gas is pretty much standard during this time As…[Read more]
