It looks like discharge with “dirt” (probably hay dust) stuck in it. You can try getting it off by using a warm wet washcloth to soften it. If you are able to get it off, then you can watch to see if her nose continues to run. Having a runny nose is a sign of a URI, which isn’t uncommon.

Hi there, I got my rabbit a couple days ago. She’s about 9 weeks old. When I got her I noticed that she had some dark something around her nose area, but I didn’t think much of it since I thought it was dirt. But, she has more around her nose now which makes me think it’s some sort of nasal discharge. I tried to get it off but its stuck to her…[Read more]

It sounds like they are OK with each other most of the time and then have scuffles when they are too much in each others’ space. With hormones involved, one of these scuffles could escalate quickly and without warning. If you want them to have a good, long-lasting bond, then they will need to be neutered. Otherwise their hormones will always be…[Read more]

Interesting. I have a shark vacuum, can’t remember the model name. It was advertised as being able to vacuum up long hair without it wrapping around the roller. Um… no. I would say it was false advertising.

This seems like the best solution. I’m sure they will agree to help if you say you can house them while they are looking for homes for them.

Recently got a Shark Stratos. Wow, this thing rocks! Just sucked up some hay, no clogging or wrapped around the rollers.
It’s a bit pricey, but is so versatile, works awesome and 5yr warranty.
Just thought I’d let y’all know in case you’re looking for a new vac that can handle hay.

That sounds like a great plan! Giving them a heads-up before hand will help everyone prepare.

Agree with Bam, they should be separated and neutered as it sounds like they are already fighting due to their hormones. Fighting can turn very serious in a flash, but once you neuter them you can go through the bonding process and they can live happily together. Un-bonded rabbits should not live together, and unfortunately rabbits don’t…[Read more]
