Don’t be afraid to ask for more pain meds. Medirabbit states that rabbits do well on metacam longterm. It is often used as a life long medication for elderly buns with joint problems.
It is however important that it is combined with a stomach protecting drug. Sadly, ranitidine, which is the go-to drug in cases like these, is still off the market.…[Read more]

It is completely understandable! You’re in good company here, we all wig out a bit with upcoming surgeries. I think I get more nervous now even though I had to have rabbits undergo procedures many times. It just a sign of how attached we are to them.
It does sound like he will be in good hands. Neuter is a pretty straight forward surgery as it n…[Read more]

Tybalt: I love it up here on hoomin’s sofa.
Tybalt to Tybalt: but hoomin doesn’t know you love it. Pee on it so there will be no doubt.

My baby is going to be neutered on the 26th of june, and I’m just so scared of it. The vet did a pre-surgery check up and said everything’s ok, I made sure the vet is experienced (he neuters all the bunnies from the local SPCA), and so far, Einstein is eating normally, his poops are normal, he’s binkying and flopping and all. But I’m so scared.…[Read more]

Correct. The tooth trim happened after this started to rule out any dental issues. I hope leaving the poops is a good sign, like you say.

I had edit my post to add a video and some info so be sure to reread my post. (Sorry I can’t pinpoint you to the actual edits to save you time)
Anyway, the fact she is leaving “lot of stray poop have been accumulating in her cage”….in addition her litter box is a good sign in my opinion. So she is leaving poops then in her litter box too? I…[Read more]

Hunny didn’t seem to suffer from gas tonight, but I did notice a lot of stray poops have been cumulating in her cage, not just the litter box she normally uses. Are these cecotropes or sick poops? So hard to tell good from bad anymore…
This has been going on for almost two weeks, now. Overall, progress is minimal. Hunny barely eats, and when…[Read more]

I am catching up on all this. Wow…what a mystery. I am so very sorry for all the stress you are going through. My gosh — I get emotionally stressed out after 24 hours of being hyper-vigilant when gi stasis symptoms show up, I can’t even imagine the stress you are under for this long. Your family, even with differing opinions, sounds so…[Read more]

Hi everyone 🙂
Some of you already know this, but I have some new fuzz balls to introduce!
Sadly over Christmas Bertha passed away. She was a lovely old age and went peacefully, but of course we were devastated and thought she would outlive us all.
In March I believe, we brought home Myra. She went on a hoppy hour date with Bun Jovi and they…[Read more]
