Could you cut a hole in one of the sides of a normal litterbox so he can get in easier? Maybe that would jog his memory?

It is also possible that the stroke has caused him to lose some of the sensation in the bladder, so that he doesnt always know that he needs to pee. He could have lost some of his bladder control due to the stroke so he cant…[Read more]

I’m sorry Pinky is keeping you awake. Hmmm, have you been switching their x-pens for pre-bonding and such? If you don’t, and they get too cage aggressive, I’d be wary of trying it now. For, you are going through the pee and poo wars, *dry laugh* those can be pretty messy in the wrong places. With my ladies, I didn’t do pen swapping until it was…[Read more]

Ollie is 10 years old. A week ago he had a stroke and I thoughts I was going to lose him.

somehow he has had an incredible recovery. He’s regained his ability to walk and move, but he is unsteady and struggles with coordination. He is not jumping anymore so he’s in a 5 x 5 ish pen and not in his 2 story condo any more. I replaced his litter box…[Read more]

Pinky won’t stop digging and chewing in the morning at the front of his pen while I’m trying to sleep. He’ll do it to anything but he mostly tries to pull anything up to get to the blanket and shower curtain. He either wants to get out or wants me to feed him. But I’m always trying to sleep and he’ll be so loud 😣. I put a log house thing there dur…[Read more]

Thanks for your responses. Yesterday evening we noticed she had fly strike. This has always been my worst nightmare and still cant get the picture out of my head. We took her to the emergency vets and the kindest thing was to put her to sleep. Luckily we caught it very quickly and she wasnt in any pain at that point. She was fiddled eith them. Vet…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic Walking Dandruff Advice for Rabbits Please in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years ago

You could perhaps put on some vaselin or diaper rash cream to help a little bit with the itching. There’s really nothing except brushing thst’s recommended. The best thing for fur mites is Revolution (selamectin) spot-on drops or ivermectin injections. Some vets will let you buy Revolution without an appointment, but otherwise it is prescription…[Read more]

I used Kerbl 100% hemp mat, made for rodents. it’s comfy, all natural, can be safely torn apart and eaten. Been using those for years for the sleeping part of the cage. rest of the cage is just covered with hay, which remains in place after the bunny has walked on it for a bit.

Forgot to mention, just make sure you sand the plywood properly, as depending on the grade, there may be risk of splinters (i wouldn’t use anything lower than BB grade)

Sounds good I would say. I have made myself my bunnies houses out of birch plywood for years and never had any issue. In all honesty, none of my rabbits even chewed on them (i made sure they always have sticks and toys to chew and play with though). And as far as i know, nowadays most pine and birch plywood are glued together with safe products,…[Read more]

If you have access to it or find something similar, Pet Remedy wipes or spray makes wonder. It’s all natural and the scent is naturally calming (i think a mix of valerian and vetiver). Helped my rabbit last time i moved, which involved a 8h trip (including 3h on a ferry). Otherwise yes, like everyone said, small space with a cover blocking his…[Read more]

I’m thinking of taking her off the domperidone slowly now she’s doing so well. She eat all by herself yesterday woth no encouragement and did 288 poops. All uniform in shape and color. You can even see all the yellow from the oat hay in them from the outside so they don’t seem coated.

She was jumping all over me in the night for food and cuddles.…[Read more]

There has been a critical error on your website.

That’s the error, it still posts my message and is easy enough to work around, but thought I would call it out anyway. This happens with both text and post with images.

Yeah I’m guessing the good first date was because it was at the rescue, so it was very unfamiliar and neutral. If your office is neutral that would prob work well, and will be much nicer for longer sessions than sitting in the bathroom!

My family has had several kids while owning rabbits. The time we had the most kids to rabbit ratio, we had a three year old and newborn twins, in addition to our rabbit. Our rabbit stayed within his playpen when he wasn’t being watched and the kids were too small to get into the playpen. Basil (Our bun) and the kids were only allowed to interact…[Read more]
