I have an anti-fatigue mat in my kitchen and the buns more or less leave it alone. Bun Jovi will occasionally nibble the edges but nothing too crazy. I also have a kind of heavy-duty door mat that is pretty stiff rubber on one side, and very short carpet on the other. They completely ignore that one.

Did you do some litter training 101 with her before attempting to bond? I’m going to guess it’s a combination of never using a litter box in her 5 years of life, recently being spayed (hormones are still fluctuating), and trying to establish territory. Hmm I will look into the boot trays, but some are rubbery like silicone. Maybe I could get a small door mat, does anyone think that would work? Or still has anyone tried those foam mats/anti fatigue mats?

So I just tried them now, and at first, they were very active. OB and Silver nipped Smokey once or twice, but other than that they were pretty good. Silver and OB are bonded, they are always fine with each other, and chose to flop next to the other bun. Right now, though, they are all flopped together. ( 😀 )
