Hehe, Breintje’s one seems to be spot-on:

“Like their sign, the lion (a fire sign ruled by the sun), Leo pets are confident, fearless and a bit vain. They love to be pampered and spoiled and are always vying for the spotlight. Quite popular among other animals and people, Leo pets are actually fiercely loyal to their owners. Pet astrology warns…[Read more]

Keep in mind that you can’t move her back and forth between outside and inside if the temperature difference is more than 10 degrees Celsius (17 F), otherwise she will be at risk of respiratory illness. Also, her coat won’t develop properly for either environment if the difference is too great. Also, RHD is spreading rapidly across the US,…[Read more]

Hello!  I’m sorry it took so long to get a reply — I’m not sure if you’ll still see this but I’ll give it a shot!

It could be a few things: hormones as she’s right around the end of babyhood?  Babies are way braver and more cuddly, on average.  Our Teddy came home at 3 months old as a cuddly little baby and like 3 days later became a sullen te…[Read more]

    Hello all.

Luna is about 6 and 1/2 years old now. About 3 weeks ago she suddenly developed a cataract in her left eye. That all checked out and doesn’t need treatment but she is of course now blind on her left side. At our first appointment for the cataract (the day after it appeared) she was weighed at 1.95kg. She normally weighs 2.4-2.5kg so…[Read more]

    Hi all!

I’m so happy to say our Teddy is still with us and will turn 12 next month!  🙂  He just had a brief stasis issue for a few days but seems to be bouncing back, knock on wood. A few things have come to my attention while caring for him, and I’d love your help:

    1) Oats for weight gain: he’s never had much body fat, but he feels even s…[Read more]

Thank you for the advice. You seem to be so far correct in saying that he will be just fine. I will continue to monitor him.

LBJ makes a good point: rabbits have amazing tolerance. Our bun needed medication, and he had to get the same dosage as a dog 10 times his size!  😯

It looks like you did everything you could do. How is he doing now?

That’s so sad, I’m sorry for your loss. It’s indeed important that her group members had the chance to say goodbye, and maybe it’s some comfort that she didn’t die alone or in a strange place.

    Popcorn free, little Josie!

Hydrangeas contain a type of cyanogenic glycoside. This is a toxin that is produced by plants as a defense mechanism. It would make a dog or cat sick if they ate it. However, rabbits are a little bit different in that they can tolerate a higher level of toxins produced by plants because they are adapted to eat a variety of plants. Could a rabbit…[Read more]

That can be a bit of a shock when your bun is overweight, because they’re so fluffy it’s difficult to notice. I was so embarrassed when the vet told me he needed to lose 20% of his bodyweight to be healthy again 😯 Our bun got fat after his neuter because his energy levels dropped a bit. The vet told us that rabbits have a metabolism that’s…[Read more]

Sorry for your loss 🙁  She sounds so unique and beautiful. My piggy Chico passed away probably 8 years ago now and I still think about her often (especially when I open the veggie crisper drawer).

Rest in peace little piggy. <3

It seems the potential is there, but there have been no documented cases in either wild or domestic rabbits. The reason they know the potential is there is through lab experiments… but it should also be noted that none of the test subjects actually exhibited symptoms. It was just shown that they were capable of shedding the virus.

    Here’s what…[Read more]

She is going to be primarily outside because of my living arrangements but I will also be bringing her inside periodically. This hutch though will permanently be outside.

Josie, my most beautiful Halloween Guinea Pig…black back, bright orange belly, Abby coat…. passed away sometime last night.

She was a rescue, so age unsure, but I suspect she was fairly old.

Yesterday was National Pet Day, so they got some extra dandelions, their fave.

It’s good it happened at night, I guess.  Gave her sisters, Jaidyn,…[Read more]

Is this for outside or inside? CC cages are very popular and easy to build, if you’re keeping the bun inside (which I would suggest). Or x-pens.

Agreed, 1/4 cup is a lot of food. Just for reference, my bun weighs 3lbs and gets 1/8 cup.

Hi everybody my bunny rabbit Archie escaped my site for 30 seconds and he ran up the stairs and found a plant that my mom accidentally left in a place that he could eat it and it happened to be a hydrangea plant by the time I caught up with him he had already eaten half of one of the leaves on the plant and I’m super nervous that he’s going to get…[Read more]
