I think there’s a blood test or something they can run to see what levels of hormones are coursing through the rabbit. It is possible that this may be hormonal. I understand resources (both for you and the vet) may be limited, but it may be something to explore.

I used chlorohexidine to treat my rabbit’s ringworm, but my exotic vet advised me to just spot-clean the spots. I used a system of wet towels and q-tips to wet the area slightly, apply and slightly scrub in the soap, and then rinse and dry using more towels and qtips as needed. The active ingredient is chlorhexidine. Diluted chlorhexidine is “safe” to use on rabbits, but some individuals are sensitive to it and can suffer chemical burns.
