I wasn’t overly surprised since he can be fussy with new foods. He doesn’t like carrot either. I’ll keep trying him with tiny pieces of banana and maybe he’ll take to it before we’re done with his medication xD

Bam replied to the topic Judy has a wet nose in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 3 months ago
Sometimes rabbits get a wet nose, esp if it’s warm or the bun has been very active. Since rabbits only ever breathe through their noses, moisture from the breath or the ambient air can deposit around the nostrils. This is fully normal and not a sign of illness.
What to look out for is a snot around the nostrils, white or otherwise colored.…[Read more]

How typically bunny… 🙄 Bananas are bunny crack, I rarely saw one that didn’t love it. But some bunnies ignore things they don’t know yet.

Hi, my male rabbit Gippy has been peeing on some of his rabbit beds, but only like a small dot of urine at a time? (So like he doesn’t to a “full” amount of pee on the beds?
Do you think that because both my rabbit live outside 😥 with a litter box available but there is no one to stop them from doing it anywhere else. And also that they hang out…[Read more]

I know its been quite a long time since this forum was started but I thought it would be appropriate to say, Lennon has been spayed, it was a smooth and easy procedure and has now fully recovered!

Hey so I have a 4 month old Holland lop that is black and I noticed today that she has a bit of a wet nose and the other day when I was bringing her home in the car she also had a wet nose..the other day in the car I just thought it was because she was stressed out and maybe a bit hot, and today I’m just wondering if I should be at all worried,…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Seemingly random aggression in the forum BONDING 4 years, 3 months ago
The next step would be to increase the length of the sessions, so you could try 2 hours, and then start bumping up to 4, 6, etc. if 2 hours goes well.
Sometimes they really don’t get things sorted out dominance-wise until they realize, “oh, this other rabbit really isn’t going away!”.

Great idea! But I tried him with banana this morning (without medicine), first time he’s ever been given banana. He wouldn’t even try it (Luna at both his pieces). Typical, lol. I’ll keep trying.

Yes as I said I’m keeping her quarantined away from Jinx for health reasons but yes also cause they are not yet bonded..I will try to bond them later but only after I’m sure Judy’s healthy and she’s spayed.

I’m so happy that vaccines are becoming available across the pond as well! It worried me for a long time: it’s a dreadful disease and so contagious 🙁
Our bunnies get the 3 vaccine combo Nobivac Myxo-RHD plus, which is a once a year vaccine now. Before that they got Nobivac Myxo-RHD once a year and since 2017 Eravac against RHD2 twice a…[Read more]

Does anyone have a list of emoji that you can use on this forum? There are only 16 in the list when I want to post, but I’ve seen other people use other emoji like rabbits, clovers, hearts, etc. How do you get these?
I tried to use emoji shortcuts lists that work in other chat messengers, but they don’t seem to match.
In most messenger services…[Read more]

Ellie from The Netherlands replied to the topic Are We Bad Bunny Owners? in the forum HABITATS AND TOYS 4 years, 3 months ago
Just asking yourself that question already says: no, you’re not bad owners.
Having to keep them outside in such hot weather is less than ideal indeed. I’d try to find a place where they can be boarded for the time that you need to move to your new home.
If there aren’t friends or family who can house them indoors, professional boarders may help…[Read more]

Update on Tater! He had a single molar spur that was stabbing him in the tongue. It was removed. Almost as soon as he came out of anesthesia he started eating on his own. Today I got the news that he can come home tomorrow! He’s eating, drinking, pooping, and doing binkies! I’m so relieved.

Dear Owen, could you please stop trying to get yourself into trouble? I admire your creativity and curiosity to find new ways, but you’re driving me up the wall… 🙄

Yes, discuss it with your vet and see what you can do. She didn’t shave it herself either, but a pet trimmer did it for her. The vet often knows a good pet trimmer too.

Did you try the banana trick yet? That got some of the most stubborn bunnies to take their meds. Banana or apple sauce.
Take a very ripe banana, cut it into slices and freeze it on a plate so they don’t stick together. After defrosting it becomes a sort of jelly which is easy to mix with meds.
