Hi, all!
Tess and Penelope, whose bonding I have chronicled in other posts on this forum, are still doing well with their bonding! A couple days ago, they took a bit of a step backwards (something spooked Tess, she barrelled into Penelope, Penelope assumed it was a fight and scrambled with Tess a bit; Penelope has been nippier since then), but…[Read more]

So Glenn and Nellie have been neighbours since yesterday evening, so just under 24 hours.
Nellie seems happy with the arrangement, in the first 30 minutes of them being neighbours Nellie has been binky at thw sight of Glenm which she has never done before, she has been really excitedly rushing to mirror everything Glenn does and flopping up…[Read more]

“Teddy was kicking pretty hard two days ago when trying to get up, before I got to him. I wonder if he might have strained something? ”
Absolutely. Especially if you’re seeing some slow improvements day by day. If there was a strain injury, it might take around 2 weeks to heal, perhaps longer in an older bunny.

Thank you, unfortunately our celebrating is short lived. Today is the 7th day after finishing antibiotics and he had another episode with his pellets having trouble swallowing and drooling etc.
I’m not sure what to do, we can’t afford extensive testing right now so hoping we can maybe just get him on another round of antibiotics since that seemed…[Read more]

Aw Kate, so great to hear from you! Thank you so much for sharing this. I’ll definitely look around for someone with that kind of training. Totally agree treating at home would be best! If I can find someone like that to give me advice/instruction, that would be ideal. Thank you for this idea!
Unfortunately Teddy is still not back to norm…[Read more]

Dear Teddy
im happy to read how he’s been going for his age -aside from this latest development that is.
“Prayers that Teddy will be able to stand up again soon! If it is due to his spondylosis/arthritis, it’s about spinal nerves to the extremities getting pinched because of an instable “wiggly” backbone. Pinched nerves cant propagate…[Read more]

Once a year and some say starting at 6yo to go twice a year — in addition to any time you are concerned!

Hypothetically, if it is a respiratory infection, that at least is permanently treatable as opposed to allergies. URIs have a really good prognosis.

Yes that does make sense. Thank you! Also, they should go to the vet once a year, right? Sorry if it is a dumb question.

Individuals will vary so you can’t really go off of breed and weight. Determining whether or not they are a healthy weight can be tricky. But a bunny should be filled out, but not chubby. You should be able to slightly feel the ribs and there should be some substance between them. You should be able to feel the spine as well, but only the very…[Read more]

My girls are sadly not spayed yet cos am yet to find a vet who wants to do that. They are very skeptical. Here, when you say pets, it’s 75 percent dogs, 20 percent cats and the remaining for other animals ( in my opinion). I can’t even get proper rabbit pellet

Last night after writing my original post, H was in our master bathroom/rabbit playroom (where we keep the play tunnel and Oxbow play post) while I snuggled with B on our bed nearby. I heard H sneeze twice and her sneezes sounded congested (they usually don’t), so I gave her a dose of pediatric diphenhydramine (Benadryl) mixed with mashed banana…[Read more]

Ellie from The Netherlands replied to the topic Bonding journal of Owen and Molly in the forum BONDING 4 years, 3 months ago
Another 1,5 hour long session today, but a lot less boredom. They’re getting used to their surroundings and started to interact within minutes.
Owen was constantly mounting Molly while blocking her attempts to get at him. I’d say that it was 80:20 in mounting attempts. He was very active from the beginning.
There was no fighting, but there was…[Read more]
