The stems are safe. I dont think there’s a limit to peppermint and spear mint. There are types of mint like penny royal that shouldnt be fed to rabbits.
Mint is often beneficial for buns that have stomach issues. If you have lots of mint, you could feed some fresh and dry the surplus and use as a treat or a hay topper during the cold season. I…[Read more]

Hi jerseygirl,
He gets depocillin shots once a week for dental abscesses, it was a regular weekly appointment when he collapsed, wasn’t showing symptoms before.
He’s been on trimebutine before, he has chronic issues with GI Stasis. He’s been on fenbendazole before too and I’ve never seen such a change in him, I can’t tell if it’s from inflam…[Read more]

How lovely, BunnyLass! 🥰
I went to buy new hay for Snoa the other day, but was so disappointed. Snöa’s favorite hay was gone and replaced with this year’s harvest, a thin, wiry hay, the kind buns often dislike. So I got her some Norwegian timothy and she wasnt pleased 😖
Today I had the cutest little encounter in the garden. I didnt manage to…[Read more]

In agreement it seems like a seizure. But I can certainly see why your vet want to rule out a heart event.
What was the reason for the vet visit in the 1st place? Where you seeing some EC symptoms?
Was he put on trimbutine from that day? Has he had this before?
The new round of fenbedazole could contribute to the lack of appetite.…[Read more]

jerseygirl replied to the topic should I screen for EC in Bun Jovi? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 1 month ago
Yes, just want to echo LBJ here, the cataract could certainly be age related. Same goes for some of those rabbits at BUNS. Possible they tested positive for ec because of exposure sometime in their lifetime (which is supposedly the case for a lot of rabbits). Unless they use the test that shows active infection./flare-up.

Hello, thought I’d post an update. I’ve taken the advice to try larger spaces. I think it’s actually working better than the smaller floor spaces. Possibly because all four buns were free roam before, so they’re probably super stressed in small spaces.
I’ve tried pairs bonding in a larger space first (between the two more aggressive buns). I…[Read more]

Yes, your bunny is probably just wondering who this intruder is and why they won’t go away. As Bam said, bunnies often lose interest after awhile.

Hi there! I’m new to bunnies and to the forum. I have eight buns and five of them are just six weeks old! I bought a female rabbit that was supposed to be five months old and unbred, well guess what? She popped out five babies.
One of the five babies just screamed while urinating. What can I do!? Is it a problem with diet? I feed free choice hay…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic bunny in mirror in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 1 month ago
I dont think its about boredom, I think its just a natural response to the presence of another rabbit. Most animals, except dolphins, possibly other whales, perceive their mirror image as another animal. I’ll never forget when my dog saw herself in a wall mirror for the first time. She was just a pup. Her face lit up with delight at the sight of…[Read more]
