Ah I still don’t really know how to insert photos and videos on here after five years 😂 Hopefully those send, I’ve got so many already. I’ll try to add a video of Eclipse binkying as well after gleefully eating my hair like its spaghetti 🤦♂️
And you’re very right, it’s really heartbreaking when you’re doing your best and expect those full…[Read more] -

Miu has been hanging outside Dorian’s enclosure, occasionally rattling the bars. Dorian’s not really showing much interest in getting out, but he does watch her intently and seems happier when she’s close. They are mirroring each other quite a bit.
The vet wanted them separate until his next vet visit (Feb 5th), but that seems so long. He is…[Read more]

OK cool, good to know! Thanks so much for sharing this. (We haven’t noticed any sedative or other side effects for Teddy, thankfully.)
How is Bun doing?

I also am curious about where, as the grease may be a consequence of something else going on potentially, such as inability to groom, not keeping up with grooming, etc..

Yes, a litter screen has been a lifesaver!

They will likely be fine. Unless they inhaled a bunch of smoke (harder to do when you’re close to the floor), then it probably didn’t affect them too much if you aired things our right away.

Cooper was OBSESSED with the shoe rack in our old place! I had to block it with NIC cubes because he was nibbling all of our shoes!

I agree it sounds like a rebellious teenage bun combined with some spring fever! Hopefully he calms down in some time!

That’s great he’s doing well! I asked my vet about it (who has been very good so far and gave the expected higher amount of metacam) and this is what she replied:
“Tramadol usage in rabbits is still very anecdotal with no formal research on dosing. The Veterinary Information Network formulary does list 10 mg/kg every 12-24 hours for dosage.

As much as I would too, the forum rules are that you can only post baby pics if you are keeping the babies, so unfortunately I don’t know if this would qualify since it’s a foster situation!

For really big trays a large cat litter pan works great, or I like using dish-bussing trays! The bonus is they are really heavy so if you have a bun that tosses their litter box around it helps with that. Under-bed bins and boot trays can also be good to use.
For digging it helps to add a screen. Mine will dig the litter out no matter how deep…[Read more]

What part of her fur? Could she have gotten into something? Did you inspect the skin under the greasy looking areas?

That’s true Bam. I think you call it March Madness. We always called it Spring Fever. Lots of animals feel it. The increasing daylight energizes them. When I was growing up, we had a cat that would go through this even though she was spayed.

One of my neutered buns got hormonal in Jan-Feb. It lasted a few weeks, then it subsided. The days are getting longer now in the Northern hemisphere, and amount of light greatly influences the release of several hormones.

I’ve noticed my buns fur looks a bit greasy. It doesn’t feel oily it just looks kind of damp and her fur is sticking together a bit. I didn’t notice it this morning before I left the house but i’ve just got back and it’s the first thing i noticed!
I asked if anyone’s been petting her with products or anything on their hands but don’t know…[Read more]
