Hi Az485!
This thread is rather old, and the original poster is no longer active on the forums. It’d be great if you started a thread of you own on this topic, with some details about your bun and his situation!
(We ask our members to not reopen older threads, since medical information gets outdated really quickly. )
I’m locking this thread now.

Hey! I saw this post as I was looking for information for my little guy. Did you ever find any resolution for you bun? Our bunny Louis has had almost the exact same thing happen to him recently and we (and his vet) are currently trying to find what the cause may be.
I came across this post and wonder if you ever found what the cause was?
Thanks…[Read more]

My “maybe baby” is a grumpy mama. She does not want to feed them, I am doing an additional feeding with kmr to keep their tummies full. They babies started opening their eyes yesterday. They scoot all over, testing their mini hoppers. I love seeing their ears pop up when I talk to them. Thank you all so much. I will continue to keep updating. Now…[Read more]

Hello,
I got my 4 yr old FS rabbit a new enclosure. It’s much larger than her old enclosure. There are 2 litter boxes, however, she is now urinating and having bms in odd places in the enclosure and around my house! Unsure what to do. Is she pissed off at me for changing things? I’m using the same litter.
Thank you!

Yes, bribery can go a long way. Mine would be angry and couldn’t wait to be put down. But the second their feet hit the floor, they knew to turn around because a special treat was coming.

Aww I know it can be really hard. The first thing to remember is that it is kind of a “tough love” thing. It’s important to groom bunnies during molting so they don’t get sick, so it really should be done. I have a bun (Bonnie) that is traumatized from being in the shelter for 3-4 years, and she just hates being picked up and handled. I compromise…[Read more]

Hi! It’s my first molting seasion and it’s really stressful! I recognize that I’m a sensitive person and my bunnies will never like being picked up or groomed but I feel absolutely terrible after every time I have to handle them because I never feel like it goes well. I suck at picking them up so I’m always afraid of injuring them, like I know how…[Read more]

I’m so sorry for your loss… It’s really rare to have such a deep bond with a bun, you did so many things together.
People don’t expect this indeed, if I hear “it’s just a rabbit” one more time, I may start to whack people on the head. Rabbits are definitely capable of deep emotional bonds, as long as you’re kind and caring.
It sounds like you…[Read more]

I’m assuming that your rabbit didn’t like the pine/wood smell to the wood stove pellets. The wood stove pellets and horse stall pellets that so many people use (from Tractor Supply) do have a strong smell in my opinion, but I don’t know if that smell is bothersome to a lot of rabbits. Small Pet Select makes a paper pellet litter. You can buy it…[Read more]

We do have an air purifier and her pen and litter gets cleaned out 3-4 times a week so there’s no issues with smell. The only time we usually spray the room is when it smells of food after a meal so that must of been how it happened but we all know to be extra careful next time! 😊
