Very clever of you to separate at the first signs of one bun being uncomfortable with being mounted!
Pre-bonding can start pretty much right away after the neuter surgery, and it will bc of how you’ve set things up. As things are now your buns are able to smell and hear each other, but not reach to hurt each other. This is great!
It’s not rare…[Read more]

Thanks Bam. Good to learn a little bit about his breeding. I’ve got a feeling he may be crossed somewhat but can see that he’s def a lop.
I’m proper anxious about being a good rabbit owner probably to the detriment of my own mental health tbh but I’m hoping this will calm down once we get used to each other – suppose a bit like first time mothers…[Read more]

Bertie is completely adorable! My first bun was an impulse of sorts too, he was a stray I found and took in. So I too had to learn “after the fact” and that worked very well!
Having him neutered could help with his following you around. Persistent following and circling are typical features of bunny courtship. The circling is often accompanied by…[Read more]

I’m new to caring for bunnies, so any advice is appreciated!!
I recently adopted 2 male lop bunnies, named Cheddar and Cheese, on July 8th (3 weeks ago). They are brothers from the same litter and are currently 3.5 months old. They are unneutered, but will get neutered at the same time as soon as the vet says OK.
Some context:
When I brought…[Read more] -

Hello, I’m a very new mum to Bertie. 6-7 months adoptee, not yet neutered but booked in for 2 weeks time. And once safe to do so, looking to bond with a neutered female.
The purchase was impulsive (as in I hadn’t done enough research, but am learning lots now) but I’m in love and am doing all I can for the little bundle to ensure he is happy…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic Theo’s a bit wobbly on his feet – worried about him in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 2 years, 8 months ago
If he was wobbly immediately after getting up and then became less wobbly after moving around a bit, then I would be more inclined to think arthritis. If he is wobbly all the time, despite trying to get him to move around, then that suggests something else is going on. As Bam said, there is EC or a stroke… things like that can cause weakness in…[Read more]

Hi Theodorus! Lovely to hear from you (although I of course wish Theodore wasnt having a problem) 💚
Hopefully this is nothing grave, “just” a bit of age-related arthritis, making him stiff and less agile. Elderly rabbits with joint problems often respond well to a low maintenance dose of meloxicam.
A more sinister cause for a balance issue would…[Read more]

Hi everyone!
It’s been a long while since I posted, lovely to see some familiar faces still posting here 🙂Theo recently turned 8 and despite being plague with GI issues in his younger years has been mostly doing really well for the past 3 years or so. Eating like a champ!
Last night he had a bit of a weird episode where he struggled to s…[Read more]

I’m glad to hear she started to eat again!
You can store the unopened CC in the freezer and it will keep way beyond the expiration date on the package. (You can keep an opened package of CC in the freezer too to extend the shelf life). Hopefully you’ll never need to use it, but it’s great to have some at home for emergencies. A rabbit might very…[Read more]

Thank you both for this. I ordered the new one and on the day it arrived Honeydew started eating again lmao! Such a rabbit thing to do! How long will Critical Care be good for without opening it?

So sorry for the late reply. I haven’t seen any snot or discharge nor anything on her paws. She isn’t a lop and her ears aren’t down as of yet. As for the bug I tried to find more but I didn’t. Though they didn’t let me look very well or comb them to find out.

What a beautifully long life filled with love from one of the most amazing rabbit owners I know. Potamus, you lucky gal.
Binky free.
Hugs to you JG. You did a wonderful job giving her the best life a rabbit could ask for during their time here. Pegasus has you 🙂

Hello! First time bonding- need some advice. General background: FluffyKiss (FK) was my original rabbit. Had her for a year. Last fall I got a geriatric rabbit from a friend so I took him in. He hummed her right away and they were bonded perfectly. I was staying at my moms house and he passed while I was there about a week ago. I came back to my…[Read more]
