so glad to hear! yeah, I noticed both a quiet “rumble” which I guess is the purr, as well as a quiet clicking. I heard a video of the “in pain” tooth grinding, which is a very different sound. I’ mm so happy my bun and I are getting closer!!

They sound like excellent signs. 🙂

The “purr” sounds like a very low volume chatter of the teeth. Kind of like a vibration I suppose. Mine tend to do the 3-click type purr though. Again, not loud, just a click-click-click.  I often do it back. 🙂

That was a good move. They need to be really careful about what info they provide. Not every owner is going to know about that in advance.  I think it would be good practice for all clinics to put in their standard pre-op printed info “(unless it’s a rabbit)” or something like that. So if cat/dog info gets handed over at least the exception is in there.

Even if it seems like an annoyance, helping people by informing them what’s correct, in a nice way, is always a good thing. There’s a lot of false bunny info out there, and help prevent it is great. 🙂

Yes, a better litter will definitely help with odor control. Paper based litters are easy to find. Like Yesterdays news, Carefresh. You can buy the cat one. That’s great.  Go slow with the additional fruits and veggies though. I’d even wait until he has finished the meds, allowing the banana only – or whatever else you mix it in. Just make sure he is not fasted beforehand. Sometimes a well-meaning staff member might give you pre-surgery instructions that are for other animals. Rabbits should not fast. They might even allow you to send in some hay with him on the day.

I sure hope so, he seemed to be the best around, I was reccomended by him from another vet who couldn’t take bunnies.

being a new bunny mom, im always super worried and paranoid as well. It’s completely normal to be concerned for your bun, and everyone goes through it, we just love ’em so much! Because your vet performs this suregy seemingly often, I think your bun is in good hands.

Young rabbits cannot form true bonds. I agree with Wick. The baby may want to get along with your current bunny and your current bunny may or may not see the baby as a threat.
