It doesnt seem like sth bad. If it were congested-nose-sounds, it would increase when the bun is excited. I had a bun with a congested nose, it was more audible when he was eating a favorite treat or if if he was upset for some reason, f ex when being handled.

I wouldn’t use any essential oils directly on a rabbit. There is potentially even danger with diffusing them with rabbits.

    I’m not familiar with Botani-vet.

If you are very concerned about hitchikers coming in, you can always check them with a flea comb to monitor and then ask your vet for advantage or revolution if you end up with a problem.…[Read more]

Hmmm, they sound to be a relatively new bond? Sometimes newer bonds can be upset by seemingly minor changes in the home. Maybe a new smell, pet, person, sound, etc.

Have you checked them over for any broken skin? Broken skin indicates a more serious fight that might have damaged the bond.

If there is no broken skin, I would keep an eye on them…[Read more]

If she seems uncomfortable, a call to vet is of  course the best thing. How old is your rabbit? There are instances when f ex a bad UTI can lead to blood in the urine.

Once I noticed the blood we tried looking at her feet but she didn’t seem to have a lot of blood anywhere which makes me think it was in the evening. She has let me touch the tops of her feet and I couldn’t really tell if it was a broken nail. I am more worried it’s a cut on her foot. I’ve tried lifting her up but at the moment she’s not too keen…[Read more]

Hi just an update about my bunny!

The next day after i last responded i took her back to the vet and they gave me medication and cat metacam to give to her.

She has definitely improved and is practically 100% herself again except for every time she eats something in large bulk (like her hay), i hear her tummy gurgling but she goes back to normal…[Read more]

    Hi all,

So Nutmeg (male, neutered) and Pebbles (female, spayed) have been living together for almost a month. They’re super affectionate with each other and do almost everything together. Pebbles is the dominant one, apart from grooming, as she has seemed to groom Nutmeg a lot more than he grooms her.

Today I caught them circling and by the t…[Read more]

A motion activated sprinkler? Those are quite effective. It depends on whether or not Otis would mind though.

Agree with the others. You might also want to get your sister to stop picking them up, it wouldn’t be good to cause them additional stress right now.

Yep, I agree with Wick. Sneezing many times in a row suggests a possible URI. Like I said, not a huge emergency. But they will need to be seen soon by a vet so they can be treated. It won’t go away on it’s own, you’ll need antibiotics.

It does have a URI sound to it as I’m reading it. My Wick had a URI and the first sign was repeated sneezes in a row, even though there was no discharge or runny eyes. He never really has those symptoms until during treatment, since we started treating early.

If it’s a URI it’s not something huge to worry about — it can be treated with antibiotics.

Keep a close eye on the bump. Sometimes hard-ish scare tissue forms, but if that’s the case, the bump will not change in size (not even shrink, for a long time, at least). If it is an abscess it needs to be cleaned out and most likely treated with antibiotics.

It would be good to lift her up to check the nails. Maybe your boyfriend could hold her in his lap, so you can have look and feel over the nails? Some buns are prone to breaking nails, especially if the nails have become a bit long. If it was just very little blood my guess would be a broken nail, but theres no way to know for sure without a proper look.
