It’s alfalfa hay. She’s 3 months old now. I basically scatter a small handful of alfalfa hay among a giant clump of grass hay. I have a hay feeder but she picks and only eats the alfalfa and comes pawing for more. When I go back to check all the alfalfa is gone and a lot of the grass hay is still left.

You might have to put up with this for a while longer, it’s best leave them intact until they’re done growing (this applies especially to giant breeds, since they end up being so heavy). Flemmies keep growing until at least 9-12 months of age.

Is she getting Alfalfa hay or pellets? I’ve found that it’s way easier to wean them off of Alfalfa pellets than Alfalfa hay. How old is she?

You could slowly transition off of alfalfa by slowly mixing in a little bit of the alfalfa with the Timothy and orchard. This was she still gets a little, but you gradually lessen it till she doesn’t get any. I actually tried the banana in their first or second session, but Ruby was eating the fur off Elmer’s head to get it! I didn’t really want him going bald though he did seem to like it.

I put a different litter box in to her when I separated them. I’ll go out today to get the same one which is covered. She might prefer that. I have vinyl flooring under the shavings but she’s used to that. In the other part, it’s just outdoor slabs under them. What a beautiful bunny, im sorry to hear of your loss. I lost one of my buns also to high risk surgery for stasis and cardiac arrest.. it was very hard to deal with, but over time it is starting to heal. Sending you lots of support and strength

From your post, I assume she isn’t spayed yet. The body starts to experience changes before full-blown puberty hits. So yes, hormone-driven is likely the reason. Also… bunnies like peeing on soft things that smell like their human.

Louie is for sure super spoiled, but he LOVES it. He’ll toss a few toys around, flop over, and call it a day.
