    Hmmm maybe very broad, shallow bowl?

    Or can you trim his chin fur to help keep it clean?

    It has been about 48 hours since Hunny’s dentist appointment. My girl has now had two doses of orbifloxacin, and I don’t notice any side-effects yet, but I still worry. In the time since her appointment, Hunny has gone from eating four tablespoons of pellets a day (remember, all she can eat is soaked pellets) to only the occasional bite. My girl’s…[Read more]

    I agree with everything everyone has said. My bun was begging to come out of his cage as soon as I put him in it for the first time! He just started hopping around my room as soon as I let him out of the box we brought him home in lol. If your bun has an outgoing personality and doesn’t seem scared I would say it’s ok to let him have some free roa…[Read more]

    Definitely sounds like puberty. My bun has actually started doing kinda the same thing. He started being able to jump on my bed and always ends up peeing on it. The biggest problem though is that he’s afraid to jump down so if I’m away for a long time he gets stranded up there!

    What I tried first is to kinda build a barrier around the edge of my…[Read more]

    HRS has a few resources on rabbit + cat relations. I know getting a livable bond between cats and rabbits is possible, and I also know there needs to be an understanding that there are circumstances where it just might not work.

    Hey guys, so we are getting my bun a bond mate next weekend. We also adopted a kitten who is super chill and easy going. My poor bun freaks out anytime he even gets semi close to her cage. He hasn’t shown any signs of aggression, just kind of looks in there. I have been trying to keep him in a separate room for now while she adjusts. Any p…[Read more]

    Maybe a taller bowl so not all the fur goes into it? Or if you’re home a lot you could wipe his chin after he drinks. Or, if you think it would help you could try trimming the fur on his chin.

    I haven’t brushed a bunny before (I get mine on Sunday) but my cats sometimes get mats on their backs because they aren’t good at washing back there. I use something similar to a flea comb (which I think is the same thing as a hair buster but without the rubber pieces). Just make sure you hold the top of the hair/mat above where you’re combi…[Read more]

    It varies a bit between individuals. When my bun Vilde came to me, he had a cage with him from his old home. I put it in my bedroom, left the cage door open but blocked access to the rest of the apartment with a grid. He stayed in his cage for about 2 days, then he started to explore. He settled in very quickly, but he was 6 years old and has an…[Read more]

    Something I’ve seriously pondered before… do you think we might see things like fecal implants happening more in veterinary medicine?🤔 Perhaps even cecal implant for rabbits.

    This topic is good timing for me! I currently have TimTim on depocillin shots and have been worrying about his gut health. I’ve been adding some ACV to his water and sprinkling some probiotic powder in veggies, but basically with the attitude of “it might not help but it can’t hurt”….

    @DanaNM, I’ve been giving T any intact cecals I find from…[Read more]

    That definitely does make sense. I feel the bad blood between the girls is purely territorial though. (It always happens when the other bun goes up to the other pen) As patches had never tried to nip her in the basket even when i was just focused on petting velvet and allowing the other 3 to do their own thing if they wished. Or they wpuld…[Read more]

    Again I’m so sorry. 🙁 Hopefully the necropsy will bring you some answers. You did the right thing by trying to take her for a check-up, we just never really know how long we have with them. 🙁

    In some time you might like to make a memorial post about her to help remember the amazing years you had with her.
