In the past I would keep the litter box very clean, and then stalk them and wait till they are in the litter box eating. Usually a bun will make a little pile of poops and you can grab some right when they move away so you know which bun they came from. Temporarily separating them with a barrier would also work!

When you have multiple buns living together, how do you go about collecting poop samples? Do you separate them until they drop some precious gold? I can guesstimate based on size but since this is really important testing, I’d rather not guesstimate. Also, how much does one usually collect?

bunnygal started the topic Upset stomach from azithromycin & what other med for snuffles now in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 2 years, 4 months ago
<p data-xf-p=”1″>So my bunny has been having the snuffles on and off. Meaning wet nose and occasional sneezing. He went on baytril and it came back. This time though he has white discharge. Very very tiny amount. And not really sneezing but he sounded stuffy so we decided to put him on azithromycin since baytril multiple times (14 day dosage time)…[Read more]

DaisyBun started the topic Itchy ear in the forum BEHAVIOR 2 years, 4 months ago
Hello,
Every once in a while my rabbit gets a terribly itchy ear. It’s always just one ear and it’s not normally the same ear, it’s rather random. However, when she gets this itchy ear it really bothers her and she ends up laying her ear flat while the other one operates normally. I always check inside the ear and I can’t see a single thing w…[Read more]

Adding something like a yoga mat, a towel, or carpet could help!
Scattering some treats going up the ramp and on the second level might also encourage her to explore a bit.

It’s made of wood and like this rough sandpapery type stuff. Would it be better to put pieces of a yoga mat on it?
I’ve never had this problem before. My other bunny that passed 3 years ago ran up and down hers from the start without a problem and it was made of the same stuff. Of course she was like fearless.

It may also depend on what the ramp is made of. Bunnies prefer surfaces where they have traction.

It’s great he has stayed a constant weight rather than losing. I would increase his critical care rather than pellets. You can also try adding in a different recovery food to see if it agrees with him better or he likes it more (I really had good success with Emeraid Herbivore Sustain). Sherwood also makes a recovery food that most of my buns…[Read more]

Especially if this is different from baseline, I would absolutely take your rabbit to the vet to see the cause of the respiratory distress. This can be an especially common issue for flat faced rabbits and trying to provide them relief as well as figuring out why is important.

I noticed the couple of times she has started to check out the ramp one of my dogs jumped at her as she about to try it and scared her so I hung a blanket down that side of the mansion so the dog can’t see her.

I’m so sorry you lost your little one. You did all that could be done for him. The video is lovely. The picture is lovely too, it’s just a little sad because he didnt get to be there to enjoy the feast 💔
Rabbits do often scream during the agonal phase. It’s deeply upsetting, to say the least. This is an instinct or “automated” reaction and we…[Read more]

Depending on your bun…
I just picked my buns up and put them on it. They sat there for a while and then explored and came down. Afterward, since they had already been up, they had no issues going up and down themselves. Prior to that, it was literally months without going up.
