@Hazel, that’s the plan.  Another day or two of meds, then he’ll start her on the anti seizure stuff if need be.   It won’t be good for her liver, but she’s already 7 years old, which, I’m given to understand is approaching old lady status for a Dwarf.  She deserves to have the best life possible for as long as she has left.

I agree with Wick. Hay is needed to wear down the teeth and to keep the digestive system working. Rabbits are supposed to graze on hay all day because their digestive tract will shut down if it doesn’t have food moving through it constantly. Hmm… without a proper diagnosis, it’s hard to know what is causing the wheezing. It could be an infection, like pneumonia. This would require antibiotics. While pneumonia is serious, there are also much more sinister things that could cause the wheezing. How old is she? Do you have any idea? I’ve never heard of a bunny nose being so dry it bleeds. Their noses tend to be slightly damp to the touch because of condensation from their breath.

I am really unsure. One of the major benefits of hay is the “saw blade” texture of it, which really aids in maintaining their dental health since their teeth never stop growing. Metacam can be a bit hard on the tummy. My bun gets meloxicam (the active ingredient in Metacam) every day, together with ranitidine to counteract the effects the meloxicam can have on the stomach.

He still has a slight limp but no open wounds. And when he does run, he can’t run as fast or for very long. This was definitely an overnight thing from when he got the muscle injury. I think you should call your vet when they open (on Monday, hopefully), because wheezing can signify serious illness that needs antibiotics.  You can test the urine for blood by dripping some hydrogen peroxide on it. Phew it looks like they are friends again! Not technically snuggles, but that elephant and him have been best buds since a little after I brought him home so I am glad they made up! (& sorry bit blurry)
