Fawn started the topic New bunn asking me to play with him – all night – very loudly in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years ago
Hello, I just recently got a new bunny. He is a rescue bunny and really young, he is estimated to be around 2-4 months old. I’ve had him for two days, and currently am letting him roam around his 60 ft playpen during the entire day. He has a hutch, which he is supposed to sleep in. It is a really large hutch, and he prefers to sleep in it during…[Read more]

You could try stacking something on top of it? I also use a covered litter box and although my rabbits havenβt tried to jump on top of it (yet), I keep a basket on top of it that I store stuff in. I feel like itβs just tall enough that it deters them from trying to jump up there.

I don’t know why rabbits pee when they have been pet, but some do. It could perhaps be a relaxation thing? It’s not an observandum, but it is of course inconvenient for the human.
Red is a normal color of rabbit pee when the bun has had dandelion or carrot or other plants with a lot of carotenoids in them. Rabbit pee should never be completely…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Mat for food and water bowls?? in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years ago
What about one of those hard plastic lunch trays? Probably wouldn’t look that nice, but if her bowls were heavy ceramic it would prob be heavy enough not to move around. Or maybe even a small rug with a some heavy ceramic tiles on top?

We had that cold snap and I was like “no thank you”. So yes, I’m glad it warmed back up. It was just way to soon for it to be so cold.

Today I had to play Litter Box monitor! π Poor Smokey had to go bad, and they kept kicking her out. π Tomorrow I plan on doing a lot of stress bonding with them. π I’m hoping that with 1 week of stress-bonding, and 1 week of seeing how it all turned out, that I’ll be able to do a marathon on that weekend. π If anyone has any other…[Read more]

I agree. He looks like he was loafed and then fell asleep, letting his head droop.

LBJ10 replied to the topic Are these veggies safe to feed daily? Alternatives to lettuce for daily feeding? in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years ago
@Wick – Well, no one ever said buns were “normal”. π
It depends on the bunny. Some will eats tons of greens and others are more finicky. I never put out more than a handful at a time. Otherwise, it will just get wilty. π Spring mix (baby greens) are pretty popular, but some bunnies like crunchy greens. So you just have to experiment. The…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic Redness on Ear in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years ago
It’s hard to tell from the picture. Is it just the one ear? Is fur missing or did you just blow on the fur to make it part? Without additional info, I tend to agree with Dana.

Litter screens usually sit on top of the litter. I use one from the BB store, never had a problem.

I’m going to ease up on the bonding for now and try to get her trained more, even though they seem to be enjoying each other’s company. I got a very large low box for her since she’s so small to try and get her to move more towards using that. The rescue that I adopted her from said she was very grumpy and territorial so ill let her settle a few…[Read more]

Is that mesh comfortable for their feet though? I’m always paranoid about sore hocks with my bun.

I would recommend a litter screen to separate litter from fur as much as possible. I use a plastic mesh used for knitting, 7-count hole size.
