PrincessWillywoo started the topic My brave, little Willow. in the forum RAINBOW BRIDGE 5 years, 9 months ago
I’d always visit the forums on here whenever my little girl was feeling off, or I had questions I wanted to see were shared amongst other bunny humans, etc. and it’s been a long while since I had to go looking for these things. It’s been years since she’s had any issues, and these issues really only related to some stasis concerns. She was so happ…[Read more]

Thank you for the reply! It makes me feel relaxed that what I think looks normal for the healing is indeed normal!

Thank you for replying! I’m glad to hear others don’t see anything wrong that I missed or looked normal to me but wasn’t!

Thanks for replying! Yeah I guess I didn’t think for inner healing as well that makes sense.

Thanks for the reply! It’s hard to stop her from running and doing binky’s.
She does little ones since she can’t go all out in a larger area like she normally would, I always feel bad stopping her 😥

LBJ10 replied to the topic Is my bunny in pain from his cataract or is he sick as well? in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 9 months ago
Cataracts can develop very slowly with age in both eyes. This is normal. What isn’t normal is a cataract that develops quickly, especially if it’s only in one eye. Although it isn’t always the case, this does suggest EC is the culprit. As Bam explained, a weakened immune system can allow an EC flare to occur.
To answer your question about eye…[Read more]

Yes, a nebulizer might help. That’s a good suggestion Dana.

Hi Bam 🙂
He’s currently on a dose of Latanoprost and Cosopt to reduce the eye pressure, and Maxidex for inflammation. All only in his left eye twice a day. The vet I’ve been seeing specialises in eyes (but not rabbits, unfortunately) and said the best long term solution would be to remove the cataract in his left eye however it would cost several…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic My rabbit's behaviour is drastically worse after a spay in the forum BEHAVIOR 5 years, 9 months ago
I’ll reply here even though this is bonding related since this is all related to her behavior.
I take it that Tony isn’t spayed yet? Rabbits reactions towards one another can change dramatically after they are spayed/neutered. Reading this I do think that Tony’s presence might be more of a player in Phil’s behavior than you realize!
They also…[Read more]

Looks like it is healing well to me! There are internal layers that have to heal as well, which is why spays have a long recovery time.

I’m sorry you are going through so much trouble with her. Chronic illnesses in buns are so stressful and draining, so feel free to vent as much as needed here! You are doing a great job with her!
I don’t have too much to add but I do think the mold might have contributed, so hopefully the new meds and the mold clean-up will help. At the rescue I…[Read more]

It does look fine! 14 days is the normal estimate for inner and outer wound healing after a spay. So its safest to keep her in a limited space for another week, ie no jumping or crazy running around just yet.
