Thank you! Once again, that’s really reassuring. He’s getting the snip tomorrow, so wish me luck 😀

Dorian is upping his little weirdo game by deciding he likes to eat cobwebs. First time I just thought oh he got some on his nose he’s just washing it off… 2nd time I was what are you doing little bun, but 3rd time him going out his way to stick his face in one and lick it makes me wonder what is going on in his little bunny head! (I did try and…[Read more]

That’s great he’s eating a bit on his own, that sounds like a good amount. Hopefully he starts feeling better and better.

He is going back to the vet for a check up when he finishes his meds in just a couple days. Vet said it is 100% an ear infection, because when they looked deep into his ear (wasn’t visible otherwise, it’s deep into his ear canal) it was full of pus which is why they had to flush it. He basically went to the vet with a slight tilt, and came back…[Read more]

Hi, here is  a site / resource that lists companies that have products that test on animals (updated 2021). People can look at that to make sure that they don’t buy anything from them / let a family or friend buy from them.

Breintje is just tiny! Dorian is about 1.85kg… and I used to think he was small 😀
Love the Binkie flop, she looks very relaxed. Silver is indeed photogenic.
& I get a very different reaction to the vacuum! They look cute flopped next to it!

If the ear infection has reached the middle ear, it would be visible on x-rays. Surgery to flush out the bulla if its full of pus could be an option. You would need a good rabbit savvy vet for this, which isn’t always easy to find.
He should be on a painkiller, because ear problems are painful. Meloxicam is an anti inflammatory painkiller that…[Read more]

I almost wonder if there was a decimal error on the Baytril (like they meant to charge 45)? I would give them a call to check…

Sorry you are going through that, it sounds so stressful. I haven’t dealt with an ear infection like that myself, but hopefully some others will chime in.
Have you talked to the vet about the continuing balance issues? Is he on an anti-inflammatory? I’ve just wondering if something else may be going on. I know that cold water hitting the ear drum…[Read more]

Got up this morning and Joey is lethargic and didn’t want any food or water. No symptoms of stasis but not acting like my Joe Joe. She’s at the vet right now with fluids and pain medication while they try to figure out what is happening. She just had her 3rd birthday a few days ago. Please be okay my Joe girl.

Definitely not frustrated with him; just concerned that I’m upsetting him (even though I exercise extreme patience giving him his critical care and meds, making sure to constantly reassure him, attempt distractions, and give him plentiful breaks) and making him stressed which I’m concerned is making him feel worse than he already feels. I’m also…[Read more]

Baytril prescriptions for rabbits have only ever costed me 15-30 euro. So that 450 is definitely coming from somewhere else, and seems extremely unlikely it’s from even mostly or even part baytril. You can ask for a receipt breakdown of everything included in the price, in case you’re worried that you were overcharged. If it says 450 for baytril,…[Read more]

Bonnie was like that about the box! But she eventually did go without one. What if you provided a few really low trays? I’m thinking maybe if it’s less enclosed they will get less possessive? Like even a sheet pan or lunch tray? I’ve even used cardboard boxes with litter in them, you could cut it so the sides are very low?  Or a pile of hay on the…[Read more]

Hi guys, my trio is at a point of needing a kick in the pants. I don’t feel like we’re making great progress on short dates and our long date Saturday was amazing, but I can only do a really long one once a week. I want to really go for it, but am afraid to make them do an overnight because they get territorial over a litterbox but don’t want to…[Read more]

When I took Bun Jovi recently for a urinalysis and X-ray, I think it was around 680? So the total doesn’t seem that crazy to me, but that price for Baytril is really high!
Also that was in S CA and there is a markup just for existing there 🙄

Hi,
I had an old rabbit named Cotton and he got GI stasis and a UTI… he had tons of genetic issues from bad breeding (he was a rescue) and no vet we went to could find out what was wrong / what to do. Anyway, for feeding I created a “bunny burrito” — I took a very large, thick towel and I placed my bunny on top, his front paws 2-3 inches from…[Read more]

This day last week I noticed one of our rabbits seeming a bit off. I decided to keep an eye on him, and he seemed to be perking up. The following day however he woke up with a slight head tilt. It was barely noticeable, but I noticed that when he tried to walk in a straight line, he would just slowly drift to the side – almost like watching a…[Read more]
