Sometimes the stress from being at the vet can trigger fights. And sometimes the “weird vet smell” that lingers on the bunny being treated can trigger fights as well. You boy was there, but he wasn’t being handled by the vets, having meds put in him, etc.

Situations like this can sometimes resolve on their own. If they continue to have problems,…[Read more]

My Doe (2 yrs) recently came home from the vet after having gi stasis. she’s currently on the mend, however her and her buck brother (4yrs) have started fighting. They are a bonded pair and have never had a fight until now. They were even at the vet together to keep the Doe calm while she was being treated.

This is such a suprise for me as they…[Read more]

It’s only been 2 weeks, but she does sound like she’s curious. This is typical of young bunnies. She wants to check you out, but not necessarily be touched. The fact that she will take food and treats from your hand is a good sign that she is comfortable with you. And yes, that IS all they care about – food, food, food. The nose bonking can mean a…[Read more]

I just got a new bunny 2 weeks ago (Holland Lop) and I think she is starting to like me? I can’t really tell because it’s only when I have food / treats. She eats out of my hand, will let me hold her paws while she snacks, lets me pet her, and generally while I sit in her pen doing work she will walk over my legs, sniff at me, etc.

    Recently she…[Read more]

prince dorian the bun started the topic Longtime bonded pair, all of sudden one is lunging at the other in the forum BONDING 2 years ago

Dorian and Miu have been bonded for about 2 years. We had one slightly broken bond when Dorian was sick and in hospital, but otherwise they are very snuggly. Tonight after putting them in their room I  double checked on them and Miu lunged at Dorian. They had just been eating their salad together and initially I didn’t think much of it, but she…[Read more]

Regardless if we can pinpoint what caused it, this will need to be examined by a vet for treatment, so I’d get your rabbit in ASAP, especially if it’s impacting food/water intake at this point.

It’s hard to tell from the picture what that is. It could be a small abscess (hay poke) or it could be a papilloma or similar.

As Bam pointed out, if he’s getting Critical Care, he won’t be too interested in water simply because the CC is already hydrating him.

I would suggest having a vet take a look to see what it is. It’s possible a vet could…[Read more]

I’ve only seen the tip of the tail exposed, like a centimeter or so. It was my bun Vilde’s tail, he had very soft, long hair and the tip of the tail protruded. Only visible when I pet him and “divided” the fur with my hand. His tail wasn’t as pink as on your picture, it was a lot paler. Pink is better if compared to blueish-greyish, which could…[Read more]

It will likely be fine, but it would be nice to add an additional buffer. Could you add an extra gate or x-pen to keep them away from the door? Not sure what the layout of your home is, but if you could keep your buns out of the room that connects to the office then you wouldn’t have any issues.  I think also blocking their view is a safe…[Read more]

Welp, I fear we are back to square one 🙁

Sneezing & discharge is back in full force. Back to the vets again.

I’m only reading now that there’s a risk of pulmicort reducing your immense system and making you more susceptible to infections and I really hope that’s not what has happened here. Has anyone else ever dealt with such chronic snuff…[Read more]
