        Hi everyone!

I have two neutered adult male rabbits. One of my mother’s friends wants us to take in two rabbits (Not aware of genders, but they are spayed/neutered)  for a week while they go on vacation. I currently plan to house the rabbits in my dad’s office area and not allow contact between their bunnies and our bunnies. Our rabbits are free roam and the door separating them is glass, but if there’s issues we can block their view. I’ve only had my rabbits since December, so I’m not sure if there will be any aggression between them. Is there anything else I should know/do?

It will likely be fine, but it would be nice to add an additional buffer. Could you add an extra gate or x-pen to keep them away from the door? Not sure what the layout of your home is, but if you could keep your buns out of the room that connects to the office then you wouldn’t have any issues.  I think also blocking their view is a safe bet.

Washing hands/changing socks between interactions with both groups of rabbits would also be good, sometimes scents can trigger some referred aggression.

            Thank you so much!!

The rabbits arrived yesterday and after taking your advice there’s been no problems yet. The other rabbits can definitely tell that others have been here, but they don’t seem uncomfortable with that. My rabbits are oblivious as well.
