That looks like a lot of wetness, she could have a bladder infection. Are there any small animal or exotics vets at all? Vets that treat horses also sometimes have rabbit knowledge (oddly enough).

Can you describe her housing set up? How often do you clean her litter tray?

My 1 year old bun has a wet tail recently. She had a wet tail one day, have a fairly clean bottom the next day and again have a wet tail. She eats and poops and plays like normal. I don’t have well experienced rabbit vet in my country. Please help.

Hi guys could anyone give me some info on the noise I just heard one of my buns make. I am working from home at the min and whilst facing away, I heard one of them make a noise almost as if a mouse was squeaking. Misty (f,2yrs) is sat in a loaf position snuggling ginger (m,2yrs) who is flopped. I have never heard them make any sort of noise like…[Read more]

I know what I said was rude, but I do feel that sometimes people (and more importantly their animals) can benefit from a bit of a wakeup call. I don’t mind stepping on people’s toes if that means it might open their eyes to how they can care better for their animal. Normally I wouldn’t come in hot like this, but after I saw the op dismiss the…[Read more]

I think it’s very normal to question everything, feel guilt, and wonder what could have been different when we lose one of our beloved bunnies! But it’s clear you gave her a wonderful life and made the best decisions for her based on the information you had at the time. And I hope you are comforted to know that she was not in pain when she passed…[Read more]

Big hug to you for this response — you are like an angel from God to to give me peace.  During the last couple of months of her life, Bonny had really slowed down.  She still ate, came to us for pets (and we to her), but she slept much more than than in the past.  I knew she was old and that every day with her was a gift.  Every single night for…[Read more]

I’m glad you got a response from the vet!

In my untrained opinion, I don’t actually think the brushing would have been the culprit, but I think it was more likely a coincidence of timing, as it coincided with the sedatives kicking in. I do agree with the vet that at 11.8, anesthesia in general would be risky, but as she was in pain from her…[Read more]

Can you do some petting when they approach each other to try to keep them calm?

And do you only have them out together in neutral territory?

    Oh my goodness! LOL!

I have 4 bunnies so I can imagine the complications of 8!

I think my main concern with having unspayed buns around bonded pairs is that they might upset the relationships between the bonded buns. Hormonal rabbits (and even non-hormonal rabbits) can trigger issues in pairs and trios. BUT, you have so many rabbits in your…[Read more]

I think one of the hardest things when you are new to bonding is knowing when to intervene, so you are not alone in that!

So first of all, take several deep breaths! Your own nervousness can in fact make the buns more nervous, so it will help if you approach the dates in a relaxed way, even if you are faking it. If you need to have a glass of…[Read more]

I agree with Wick! Hay and clean water are the most important, and pellets will address any other needs.

You can find some dried veggies and herbs online that would be a nice enrichment, but for an emergency kit I don’t think they are necessary.

There was a nice thread recently on what people like to keep in their emergency/evacuation kits for…[Read more]

Honestly if they have hay and pellets, they will likely be fine. Good quality pellets are designed to fill in the gaps in nutrition, so I would not worry. Vegetables act as a nice enrichment and variety and that diversity is nice for rabbits and I believe helps their GI health in general, but pellets and hay should hit what is required.

You need to give your rabbit simeticone 1 cc for an hour every 3 hours then the rest every 4-6 hours 1ml-2ml google said and you need to check if the poop become smaller or it suddenly stop since sudden stop might be a cause of stomach blockage ( bloat ) or he/she just dehydrated that why it can’t poop or malformed poop sometimes if the rabbit…[Read more]

    The Potato Patch is complete.

These two will be moving permanently into a double pen tomorrow! They’ve been together fully for a week with no issues and it is time.

Don’t mind the floor Tater thinks play time is poop everywhere and dump pellets time.

Yes, Tater’s nails on his one paw are long. He is problematic at nail clippings so it takes…[Read more]

    Thanks for taking them in!

I think my number on tip is to get the neutered/spayed ASAP, even if it’s at different times. I don’t think the timing matters much actually.

That will make everything easier because you won’t have to be afraid of accidental pregnancy, they will have better litter box habits, and they will smell better!

    In terms of ho…[Read more]

I am in a bit of a situation. I moved in with my sister for a bit, while I search for a home, and during the move i took in a female bunny  (my daughter named her S’More) that was hopping around in the neighborhood. About a year and a half prior, I took in a male rabbit (my daughter named him BonBon) who managed to come into my backyard. (FYI:…[Read more]

Y’all, I’m back with an astonishing update! In my last thread Binkie had problems with her cecos, and was starting to lose weight. There have been no more cecotrope smudges anywhere for over a week now, and her weight is improving. Her shoulders and spine are rounded and not sharp like they were before, and she’s been so playful and bubbly…[Read more]
