Hi guys could anyone give me some info on the noise I just heard one of my buns make. I am working from home at the min and whilst facing away, I heard one of them make a noise almost as if a mouse was squeaking. Misty (f,2yrs) is sat in a loaf position snuggling ginger (m,2yrs) who is flopped. I have never heard them make any sort of noise like this before as they are both quite unvocal (other than Misty when she’s grumpy at ginger and then she grunts st him). Like I said I’m very new to this noise and don’t have any idea what it means so it would be amazing if someone could help.

        TIA

          Could it be “clucking”?

I’m not sure, I’ve never heard what clucking sounds like. I was very surprised because it sounded exactly like a mouse lol.

              I think @DanaNM ‘s bunny Bonnie clucks.

Bonnie does cluck! I haven’t heard it in a little while though. I have also heard some very quiet squeaking noises when the buns are cuddling with me.

I posted about it here: https://binkybunny.com/forums/topic/bonnie-clucking/

I think if body language looks relaxed and happy, then it is likely a happy noise.

If you notice squeaking or whistling noise when the bun has been scared or running around, then that is more of a concern (could be issues breathing or fear).

Hi, it always happened whilst in relaxed position. In fact it literally just happened now. They’re both flopped in one of their hide outs. I’m glad it’s a happy noise but so strange I’ve had them both well over 2 years and now only have they started making it now (I can’t distinguish which one is being vocal haha). Thanks guys

I just watched the video of bonnie. Unfortunately that’s not the noise, my bun makes one singular very high pitch mouse squeak and then I don’t hear it again for a while haha.

My rabbit does a sigh type thing when I’m petting him sometimes, it ends with a high pitched squeak type noise, and sometimes I’ve heard it randomly when he is relaxing.. Maybe that is it?

My bunny chirps if he’s having a treat he really likes. It’s a very high pitched very quiet sound that sounds like a bird chirping. My girl makes various noises all the time especially when she’s feeling bossy. Rabbits make noises more than people expect but most of them are really quiet so you don’t always realize they’re doing it.
