It is okay for short time use. You want to try as much as you can to get them bonded ( when they are spayed) because rabbits are very social animals. You are being humane, you are trying your best. I don’t know how many square feet it is??? But I had my bunny in a cage ( 5 square feet ) because the pen we ordered didn’t come in time, it was 2 and…[Read more]

Hopefully, changing her diet will resolve the wet poo issue — if not, then you need to take your rabbit to a rabbit-experienced exotic vet: https://wabbitwiki.com/wiki/Choosing_a_rabbit_veterinarian#Rabbit_veterinarian_listings … rabbits cannot go to ordinary dog/cat veterinarians.
The poop is likely due to an improper diet. A 12wo should not…[Read more]

Update:
I changed her litter box and I’ve been watching her. She doesn’t make normal poops she only makes those soft ones. They look like the poops bunnies eat, they’re round and clumped together but they’re soft. Could she have diarrhea? She seems normal she’s running around and playing.

Bam replied to the topic Toxic? in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 11 months ago
It seems ponytail palms are not toxic to dogs, cats or horses (or humans). Rabbits can eat pretty much the same things as horses. Rabbits and horses have very similar digestive systems.

So I dont think you have reason to be worried ☺

Hello! I have a question for anyone who is able to answer.
I turned my head today and saw my chequered giant earring a dried piece of what I think is Pony tail palm. I do have one but it is not in his room, so I am unsure how he got it.
I tried to look it up and see if they’re toxic to bunnies but could find nothing.
Anyone know?thank you!

So we have a cat we are trying to get chill with our bun buns which is going ok but we keep the bunnies in our room and the cat has the rest of the apartment. Ideally all would roam free but I don’t want the bunnies to get hurt by our cat while we are gone so they are only out around the entire place when we are around and can pay attention. Our c…[Read more]

Yes, a picture would be helpful. From your description, it sounds like they may be papillomas.

Can you post a picture? If you add it to your profile, it should appear in your media library and then you can add it to your post.
What part of the ear are they on?

Today I noticed a large pea-sized lump on my 9 month old neutered Mini Lops ear.
I cannot believe I never noticed it before, because it is so large that it sticks out very noticeably, it is like it popped up from no where.
When lifting the ear into the light, the lump makes a dark red shadow, and the lump can be felt from the outside and inside…[Read more]

I agree that 2 weeks is nothing in rabbit land! And accepting any petting or food means you are well on your way. Rabbits that are truly feral usually aren’t possible to catch. And I agree that being in a safe home is wonderful for her. In time, if you have the ability, she may appreciate having a bonded companion, but that’s something you can…[Read more]

Two weeks is practically nothing when it comes to gaining the trust of a rabbit that isnt a very young baby. Rabbits are low in the food chain and many species of predators, both birds and land-living are out to get them, day and night. If your girl was of a more trusting nature, she would not have lasted many days in the wild.
Young rabbits tend…[Read more]

Thank you for the response! This is my first rabbit, so I have been researching so much so that we can give her a good life, I have only ever owned rats. She definitely is very wary of her current environment right now, so I will try what you suggested to see if that gives her some more peace of mind and comfort. We have only had her for 2 weeks,…[Read more]

Thank you for adopting this rabbit!
Rabbits that have been living feral tend to be slow to trust humans. That she allows you to hand feed her and pet her is great. It means you are starting to build trust. My best advice is just to be patient. Time is a huge factor. My first stray bun needed a whole year before he warmed up to his humans. My…[Read more]
