We have a bonding template you can fill out, which can help members better understand your bonding progress and context: https://binkybunny.com/forums/topic/bonding-template-read-me-for-bonding-help/
Fur-pulling is not a net-positive sign, but no retaliation is good. It sounds like they are still working stuff out in terms of willingness to groom…[Read more]

Ah– if I’m interpreting this correctly, it seems like you are allowing them to free-roam together again too soon. I recommend reviewing our bonding overview and going through the steps with your rabbits: https://binkybunny.com/infocategory/bonding/ … bonding typically takes weeks to months; rather than days.
A secure, stable bond will not have…[Read more]

Hi, my rabbits are in the early stages of bonding. My male, Mr. Paisley, I have had since he was a baby. My female, Sage, I got a month ago. They are both about 18 months. Mr. Paisley is scheduled to be neutered in several weeks so I have been keeping the two rabbits separate. For the past month the two rabbits have been meeting through an x-pen.…[Read more]

Thank you for your reply.
My criteria for “are they good to go again” is putting them in the carrier and walking around a bit. After I’ve done this they calm down and will lie down next to each other.
As for the home environment I do think this maybe the problem she is freeroam to the entire downstairs and has lived in the hutch with the doors…[Read more]

When you think back to your re-bonding attempts, what has been your criteria for “OK, they are good to go again?”. Also can you speak to the home environment, in terms of whether a rabbit has ownership of any particular area more than another. This may also include particular objects/furniture too.

Paige01 started the topic Ideas for cage off the floor? in the forum HABITATS AND TOYS 4 years, 11 months ago
I took in a bunny recently and ordered an x pen for her, however my dog is way too interested in her and has been running around the cage (no, there is no way to separate them in different rooms all the time). I plan on building a 4 foot by 6 foot c&c cage but it would need to be off the floor and on a table. The only issue is getting into the…[Read more]

Thank you so much for your help 🙂
I have been feeding them 1/4 cup of pellets and 1 cup of greens. Do you think they should get more because of their weight? I’m having a hard time figuring out their food diet on the internet because they say lots of different things. since they are getting bigger in size.
Thank you again

Hi all,
I’m looking for some advice as I have a pair of house rabbits who as of last night have broke their bond for the third time.
Our female Coco we have had for three years and earlier this year we lost her partner so we decided to get a new male for her.
After a really bad match with the first rabbit we adopted for her, the fosterer took…[Read more]

4 years isn’t too old to neuter a male rabbit. Shelters do it all the time.
@BZOO, I’m very sorry you are going through this.
I had a bun who came to me at the age of 6 and who couldnt neutered for health reasons. He was wonderful, but he pee-marked extensively. I had to cover everything with pee pads and shower curtains and easy to wash…[Read more]

I really hope your bunny gets better and makes a complete recovery. Please keep us updated on how he’s faring.
We opted not to neuter our now 9 month old netherland dwarf because we don’t have a trusted vet and don’t want to risk any complications with having the operation done. He gets along fine with our cat (no mounting of any kind) and has r…[Read more]

<p class=”p1″>So unfortunately it took this long for me to arrange another date today. I noticed Winter and Harper were sneezing pretty frequently over the past few weeks then I saw Winter sneeze with some white discharge. I took them both to the vet and they were both cleared as perfectly fine, but Winter did 10 days of low dose antibiotics just…[Read more]

Well, no pic, but got a good look, definitely testies.
No idea what the one vet was talking about.
He’s not doing great, hopefully can get hubby to take him in tomorrow.

I’m going to be in the minority here.
If he’s an only bun, I would not.
Just got my male neutered, in hopes to bond with my spayed female. He isn’t doing well. I’m am stressed and beating myself up, he’s probably going back to vet tomorrow.
This is the first time I’ve altered a bun, female came spayed, and the stress is immense!
