BunBun29 started the topic Neutered male bunny with unspayed female ? in the forum BEHAVIOR 4 years, 10 months ago
Hello everyone 🙂
I have 6/7 month old Holland Lop, he got neutered almost a month ago now.
I know he can still possibly breed so won’t be putting directly in with an unspayed female for atleast another month or more. I really want to get him a buddy. He’s quiet and doesn’t exhibit male aggressive behaviours, he just peepees a lot hahaI came…[Read more]

Hi guys! I’ve been away at college for the past month and just came home for the weekend. I noticed that my bun’s chin looks worse than usual and now I’m concerned about leaving him again
🙁 I’ve read that this could be a dental issue? My parents said that they don’t see anything wrong but it just doesn’t look normal to me and I want to do…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic Free choice pellets or measured? in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 10 months ago
Some rabbits can be free-fed and there are pellets (like Sherwood) that are designed for that. However, this doesn’t work for a lot of bunnies. As Wick said, it can lead to not eating enough hay. So the answer really is… it depends. If your bunny is able to have the free-fed type pellets and still eats plenty of hay, then I don’t see any harm in…[Read more]

Ruby’s is pretty general, but she really does love baseboards and door frames! She will still make attempts through the 3 layers of masking tape but gives up quickly. She also loves to tear up any fabric. Bottom of the futon, blankets, clothing….her nickname is Ruby Chew.

As mentioned in the BB diet overview (https://binkybunny.com/infocategory/healthy-diet/), transitioning to limited daily Timothy pellet serving is recommended for rabbits older than 6mo.
If I’m understanding correctly, you are looking at pellets that are advertised as free fed for serving. I and many others caution against that because for many…[Read more]

my applejack (10yrs, maybe more) had been leaving piddles all around the place, but i discovered it was because he was having trouble emptying himself and was just leaking whenever he was full,, so now i pre-pee him a couple times a day. i hold him a few inches off the ground over a litterbox and put a little pressure on his abdomen just in front…[Read more]

I need to buy my 7 month old rabbit timothy hay pellets and I’m confused whether to buy free-choice pellets or measured pellets? I heard free-choice is for babies and once they reach the age of 6 months they need to switch to measured. Is that right? I’ve also heard that measured is kind of useless for a reason I don’t remember. My brother is…[Read more]

As some know, my bunny boy Elmer passed away last week. Memorial post to be written once I can handle it.
After Ruby got depressed into a light stasis, I decided she shouldn’t be a single bun. We are going speed dating tomorrow! The rescue actually has some of her siblings. Apparently she was dropped off with her liter and some adults, and her…[Read more]

update: I went to another vet yesterday, and wow… it was a very traumatizing experience for my bunny. I think it was better than the other one, but the vets flipped my bunny on his back multiple times to check his temperature and clip his nails. I asked them isn’t it bad to do that, they just said holding him from his armpits would break his…[Read more]

I would want to mke sure no plastic eyes or noses could pop off and be a choking hazard. Otherwise, I wouldn’t worry.

Very sorry to read your news. There are some good answers above, and although Nia passed suddenly, at least it was without pain and suffering.
Our dear bunny, Ella, passed very suddenly without any explanation. It does happen, just like with humans.
You and Nia will meet again, later, in another dimension.

My bun Vilde stood on metoclopramide (Reglan) for a couple of months back in 2019, after that he had it as needed. My vet explained it isn’t considered a strong drug. It is the same med humans get for migraine-related nausea. It must however not be given if theres suspicion of an intestinal blockage (risk of intestinal rupture) and it is best…[Read more]

Thanks a lot for the info, for some reason I didn’t notice this reply until now when I was about to bump this.
I’ve tried long periods without any gassy, oxalate, calcium, or sugary vegs/fruits, and gave up on that strategy just recently. I can try it again as I do other diet adjustments like maybe some alfalfa you mentioned, and will review that…[Read more]

IMO a healthy rabbit pretty much always acts starving LOL
Usually people cut down from “unlimited” pellets around 6 months, but since you are already at 1/4 cup you can probably stick with that for now.
That’s great you already have them separated. Now that they are a bit older you may also want to double check their sexes, young rabbits are…[Read more]

My girl, Ginki has been doing this for a while now. First I misinterpreted this behavior as a call for attention. I didn’t understand why she runs away though. And one day it dawned on me: she wants to play tag. I have read on every forum that bunnies don’t like to be chased, but I guess she is special. She loves running around the room with me…[Read more]

Hello,
I have already looked up and talked to the vet about fighting and such. They have a divider in both their night cage and indoor playpen, they are only together when I sit with them in their outside playpen which is never for very long. They started getting hormonal and that is why I put in some dividers before they started…[Read more]
