I know this is sort of off topic, but does anybody’s bunnies actually LIKE the vaccuum cleaner?  I just realized that my two newest additions love the vaccuum cleaner noise.  They lived with a college student who was renting a room so I’m not sure if she even owned a vaccuum.  They flop down and actually just lay there while I vaccuum.

Luey hates the hoover noise … he will hide in his box!

But I have seen him bite the hose and then run off.

I hoover around my piggies’ cages …. my older one does not give a hoot as he is used to it now, but Mickey hates it.

            Dawn xx

Edson is not bothered by the vacuum at all. The rescue vacuumed every day so he got used to the noise there.

Mine hate it as well. They all stare at it in horror and Yuuki tends to thump!

Mine used to be afraid, but now tent to attack it. It concerns me because one day I’m afraid that they will leap right at it and get a foot stuck or something!

My buns are ok with the vacuum. They hate it when the fire alarm goes off. My roomie burns food often and has a habit of setting off the fire alarm. I think it’s too loud for the buns’ sensitive ears.

Shadow hates the vacuum, runs out and hides. My first bun, would come over and investigate it every time I had it on. She would wait for me to turn my back to have a go at the cord.

Marvin who is generally afraid of everything isnt the least bit bothered by it, you can maneuver it right up to him and he doesnt react. Jessie is less tolerant of it, but still not afraid of it. Funny thing is that if they are in the living room and they hear the vacuum cleaner fire up in their room they will come running down the hall to supervise me cleaning to make sure it meets their standards.

My bunnies HATE the vacuum sound.  Jessica only chases the vacuum hose when I try to clean out her bunny bed.  That seems to really get her.  Its like she’s saying “I like my stinky, poopy, furry bed”!  It really cracks me up b/c she doesn’t seem to get angry when I vacuum other parts of the cage.

Pepper has a rather conflicted relationship with my Roomba.  On the one hand she mostly ignores it as she has figured out I usually only do one room at a time.  But sometimes she gets cornered by it and then it’s boxing time!

Our bunnies generally don’t like the vacuum at all. They have learned to ignore our Roomba (robotic vacuum cleaner, looks like a fat frisbee) when it’s running, to the point where the Roomba can nudge them and change direction. It does not move fast enough to do any damage. Bailey once got curious enough to hop on top of the moving Roomba!

A lot of people report that their pet birds and parrots like to bathe in their waterbowl when they vacuum- I guess the sound reminds them of it raining in the rainforest????  Weird.    None of my parrots do that though.

Mocha was a Holland Lop who when I ran the vacuum would chase it. Not just when it came near him but if he was in the next room he would come running to chase it. Meanwhile his buddy a 70 lb. golden Retriever hides behind the couch whenever the vacuum comes out. It was always funny to watch. If I was using the tube to suck up bunny poop he would try ti get in the way so I would aim the tube at his bottom and he would hop away then trun and come back for more. He was such a fearless bunn.

Jack is not timid with the vacuum, Rucy ignores it, and Bailey will fight with it before she runs off. For the most part though, they are somewhat used to it. I do catch Rucy and Jack trying to eat up as much hay off the ground as possible though when the hose enters their pen – I guess they figured out that the vacuum “eats” all of their stray hay.

No one likes the vaccum at my house, but Rupert hops in his cat condo and hides his face (pulls his ostrich move) it’s too cute, he tries to sneak a peek to see what the vaccum is doing, then he hides his face even harder!!

Once, he was soo tuckered out (he’s a little out of shape ) and he actually stayed leaned up against his door while I vaccumed the girls cage!! He was like, “thats scary but Phew! am I pooped!” He just closed his eyes!! LOL

ok, really, Sophie LOOOVES it. She will be out playing and she will play tag with it, like a puppy would. She also always tries to get under the attachement. I am such a bad mother, but when her molting is out of control, yeah, i vaccumm her. she starts licking like crazy so i know she likes it.
