• She needs to be kept off of problem areas like beds or couches until she is spayed, her hormones settle and her behavior settles. Some young bunnies are worse than others about doing this- Cotton was terrible and we had to keep her off the couch until she was older, spayed and more mentally mature. Even a large amount of urine can be used for marking.

  • I like this type- you want them made for small dogs or cats and you can expect to pay around $7-$15 approx.  They need to be replaced every couple of years as the blades do get dull and then tend to pinch the nail before cutting.  I am not sure if my clippers have that spring or not though.

  • Bladder sludge could be causing blood in the urine from the irritation of the gritty sludge-there does not need to be any bacteria or abnormal cells present when a rabbit has sludge. Baytril could help with an infection or prevent a secondary infection from the irritated bladder and urinary tract. Sounds like maybe the issue of sludge needs to…[Read more]

  • Jersey- It sounds like they are using cutters- like guillitine nail trimmers to trim the teeth. I have seen this done at the clinic I worked at and there is always a risk of the tooth breaking upwards instead of across and causing problems- plus they need to be trimmed to a proper lenght. But when the teeth get so abnormally long- shortening…[Read more]

But for a typical adult house bunny- if I ran out of pellets and had to wait to get some, since I only feed a tablespon daily- I would stop pellets until I was able to get more of their regular pellets. But if you are feeding pellets are more of the…[Read more]

Call Oxbow. I called them once about a piece of corn that I found in a bag of pellets- I found it when I was refilling the snapware jar that I use on a daily basis. I called the company since the pellets have no corn in the formula and I wanted to know what they would say. The customer service rep I talked to was very nice and she explained…[Read more]

  • Do you have someone else to help you? I have my husband hold the bunny while I cut the nails- and that is so much easier than attempting on my own.
