Ellie, I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of Breintje, you and Bas must be absolutely devastated.
Breintje was such a special bun, and I know a wonderful companion for you in times of need. You gave him such a wonderful life.

HBunny started the topic “Snuffly” noises, no discharge? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 9 months ago
Hello everyone!
I have a rabbit who started making “snuffly” noises today. It sounds like he has a stuffy nose- a bit like a clicking, congested noise when he breathes.
He has always had some nose noises- he snores when he sleeps, he sneezes every so often. The vet has always said it’s fine as there’s never been any discharge. He’s half lop,…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic Type of hay? in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 9 months ago
The whole dandelion plant incl the seeds and root is quite fine for rabbits.
Timothy seed heads are not generally considered a problem for rabbits. There are always seed heads in the timothy hay I get, both pet store hay and farm hay. Alfalfa is still a lot richer than timothy that has seed heads, so I too would guess this is a late cut grass hay…[Read more]

Ugh, my buns hate this hay and it’s the only hay I have since the hay I usually get is usually thicker, basically 1st cut filled with timothy hay and heads.
It’s too soft…my female one seems to eat anything, it’s just my male buns that seem to like thicker hay.
The guy who i bought this from said, “The farmer said this is second cut Timothy,…[Read more]

Hey everyone 🙂
I also hadn’t thought of decorating for Halloween for my new rabbits’ enclosure/home base, but I guess there’s still time!
In the meantime, here are some pics of our adopted pair, who seem to have come through their initial transition bumps really well (with help from this forum for sure).
Meet Fred (milk dot nose) and George,…[Read more]

Well dang, wish there was a way, but passed on his energy, I would also assume a younger adult

Oh Ellie, I’m so sorry to hear about little Breintje. As the others said, he truly was a special bunny and your bond was very special as well. I think he knew his time was running out and he wanted to spend time with you.

It doesn’t look horrible (i.e. probably not an emergency). It probably separated a little bit from him jumping or chewing at it. I would just have the vet take a look as soon as you can. He may need something to keep him from messing with it.

It’s hard to guess age once they are an adult. I would say he is probably a young adult though. I’m basing that off the pictures/videos.

I forgot to post this yesterday. Got 2 bales of timothy hay for 10 bucks as I told the a manager at a place called “the red barn” my story and showed pictures yesterday. They too believe it is a hotot without both eye markings, leading them to believe it was dumped as well for not being show worthy. Really sad if true. Anyway to guess a rabbits…[Read more]

Hi! I made a post a few months ago (see here) regarding my two 5 year old sisters who un-bonded after my dominant bun got sick. Both are completely healthy now and have been in separate x-pens right by each other with an anti-bite panel between them for 3 months. They have been doing great like this, laying/sleeping by each other through the fence…[Read more]

It’s hard to say what is the “appropriate” amount of worry– It is good that this will be assessed by a vet. It is very important that recently neutered/spayed rabbits are in a restricted space to ensure no complications in recovery. While the rabbits may start a fuss, restricting their movement/jumping/running abilities is necessary, just like…[Read more]

hello my rabbits just got neutered a week ago. One rabbits incision looks fine. But the other ones looks like this. I’m guessing it’s opened up? He’s eating drinking and acting normal. No discharge or smell. They are both free roam and bonded. They have had no issues with each other. They still get along wonderful. But they both won’t stay in…[Read more] -

Hi all,
I’ve posted before about my rabbits many medical problems and I’ve gotten some great feedback.
She needs constant care, sub-q fluids everyday or every other day depending on how she’s doing (chronic kidney disease, e-cuniculi and bladder sludge), critical care when she’s having a bad eating day (dental disease and accesses) and med…[Read more]

Gotcha! That’s helpful! It sounds like you didn’t have too hard of a time bonding your pairs, so that’s encouraging. I think if a particular pair was really hard to bond, it probably wouldn’t be a great candidate to add to a quad. There’s also the risk of the current bonds breaking, so keep that in mind.
When I was working with mine I first…[Read more]

I have bonded bunnies before. Long story short, I started with a brother and sister, and a friend to be introduced at a later date. Separated them to have them spayed and neutered. Reintroduced brother and sister but their happily ever after unfortunately didn’t last long because sister died. Introduced my boy to the other girl and they’ve rea…[Read more]

I’m so sorry to hear this Ellie, I know it was something you had been dreading. My heart breaks reading this. It seems that maybe you both knew something was building. Wick & Fable replied to the topic Help! How do I stop the peeing! in the forum BEHAVIOR 4 years, 9 months ago
I have found rabbits more often associate hay placement with pooping/peeing than not, so you may need to rearrange how you typically arrange rabbit space to be agreeable to this behavior.
