Heya, I’ve got a question about the “awaiting moderation” system. Do you have to verify your account to be able to post directly? Or is it something that happens when you want to post pictures?

For a bunny on a good pellet and healthy brand normally have 1/4 cup per 6 lbs but it varies. Some don’t even eat pellets. If they are at a good weight I won’t worry about changing the amount you give them. I don’t know where you are so I don’t know how high the risk for RHV2 is, but in case you didn’t know RHV2 is a deadly rabbit virus spreading…[Read more]

So I got an update. The vet isn’t sure what the growth is but he doesn’t think it’s a bite because there’s no bite mark and he says it looks more vascular. I paid to get it tested. We talked possible outcomes, if it ended up being bad and needs to be removed it could be like $500-700 Canadian. I’m assuming it would be more because he wasn’t eve…[Read more]

Generally, if a discharge is caused by eye irritation/injury, the discharge is clear. A thick white discharge suggests an infection of some sort. As Bam said, this could be from a URI, a localized infection in eye, or a tooth root infection. I suppose an injury to the eye or tear duct could become infected… but I imagine the eye itself would…[Read more]

There are many pellet brands which can meet the nutritional needs required for rabbits. Once met, then it’s more on owner and rabbit preference on the arrangement of the ingredients and such. You can see here for suggested break-downs of nutritional content:…[Read more]

Okay thank you for your advice! As for now for the litter,I use wood litter which is obviously not pine hehe and the pet store owner was also a bit curious as to why I didn’t want to buy the pine litter,,,also my buns is a chinchilla and mix angora and they seem like they are on a good weight because I just sent them to see the vet a few weeks…[Read more]

The fat in those pellets is too high, I can’t see the ingredients so I don’t know if there are any dangerous ingredients in it but I would switch because the levels are not good. Oxbow, small pet select, and Sherwood have good pellets. I feed my bunnies twice a day, Pellets in the morning and veggie at night, I have been playing around with this…[Read more]

It’s been a real rollercoaster since Breintje passed away: there was so much to arrange, and the week after Breintjes cremation Bas was away on business again for 5 days. During those days I realised that a house without a bunny is just a house, not a home. I went through the adoption pages, called the local shelters, and promptly got told that…[Read more]

Hello all!
Okay so recently my buns pellets and veggies finished! And so just now I went to the pet store and found pellets that had only 8% protein in their pellet and so I was thinking is it good? Because so far as I’ve done my research,I saw that you have to buy rabbit pellets that has no more than 14% of protein…
Also how many times do…[Read more]

Saline solution is a good idea, sounds like a much better general medicine than gentamicin. Thank you so much 🙏 It could be from a tooth infection, but could it also be from something getting in her eye? I was taking out hay one day for her and she shoved her face in my hand 😅 I think a piece got in her eye, I saw it there for a day or two before…[Read more]

I’d try to rinse the eye with saline eye wash for humans. I have small single-dose plastic vials with saline, which are easy to use for the purpose of eye rinsing, plus of course very hygienic since you only use each vial once. Wipe off the goo with clean and soft tissues/compresses, use several if you need to. Fucidine drops/ ointment is…[Read more]

Rain’s eye was having slight clear discharge for a day or two at first, and we figured we’d schedule a vet appointment for this weekend to check it out. Today it got much worse and there is thick white discharge at the tear duct. I’ve lightly wiped away some of it with a cotton pad but I didnt get much off because I wanted to be gentle. Disch…[Read more]
