We went to the vet and she said since she has no symptoms of teeth problems (she’s been eating her hay well ever since her stomach issues cleared up) it’s probably a rabbit cold, which she gave oral meds for as Bam suggested. She’s doing very well energy and appetite wise, and I’ve cleaned up her eye as well as I could (the vet herself didn’t…[Read more]

Oh I didn’t know,,so does that mean I can’t bring my rabbit out to play nowadays? They are both indoor rabbits so don’t worry! And yes..I heard some people don’t give pellets at all but by not giving pellets..I heard that you have to be careful and stricter on their diet.. anyways THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR ADVICES!

Oof, rabbits are very pushy lovers indeed… Our bridge bunny Breintje calmed down after 3 weeks. He was a little older when he was neutered, at 2,5 years, and he had spent half a year with me while he wasn’t neutered yet.
His mounting, circling and spraying behaviours went away within 3 weeks. He did remain quite possessive over me though.…[Read more]

Heya, I’ve got a question about the “awaiting moderation” system. Do you have to verify your account to be able to post directly? Or is it something that happens when you want to post pictures?

For a bunny on a good pellet and healthy brand normally have 1/4 cup per 6 lbs but it varies. Some don’t even eat pellets. If they are at a good weight I won’t worry about changing the amount you give them. I don’t know where you are so I don’t know how high the risk for RHV2 is, but in case you didn’t know RHV2 is a deadly rabbit virus spreading…[Read more]

So I got an update. The vet isn’t sure what the growth is but he doesn’t think it’s a bite because there’s no bite mark and he says it looks more vascular. I paid to get it tested. We talked possible outcomes, if it ended up being bad and needs to be removed it could be like $500-700 Canadian. I’m assuming it would be more because he wasn’t eve…[Read more]

Generally, if a discharge is caused by eye irritation/injury, the discharge is clear. A thick white discharge suggests an infection of some sort. As Bam said, this could be from a URI, a localized infection in eye, or a tooth root infection. I suppose an injury to the eye or tear duct could become infected… but I imagine the eye itself would…[Read more]

There are many pellet brands which can meet the nutritional needs required for rabbits. Once met, then it’s more on owner and rabbit preference on the arrangement of the ingredients and such. You can see here for suggested break-downs of nutritional content:…[Read more]

Okay thank you for your advice! The fat in those pellets is too high, I can’t see the ingredients so I don’t know if there are any dangerous ingredients in it but I would switch because the levels are not good. Oxbow, small pet select, and Sherwood have good pellets. I feed my bunnies twice a day, Pellets in the morning and veggie at night, I have been playing around with this…[Read more]

It’s been a real rollercoaster since Breintje passed away: there was so much to arrange, and the week after Breintjes cremation Bas was away on business again for 5 days. During those days I realised that a house without a bunny is just a house, not a home. I went through the adoption pages, called the local shelters, and promptly got told that…[Read more]

Hello all!
Okay so recently my buns pellets and veggies finished! And so just now I went to the pet store and found pellets that had only 8% protein in their pellet and so I was thinking is it good? Because so far as I’ve done my research,I saw that you have to buy rabbit pellets that has no more than 14% of protein…
Also how many times do…[Read more]
