You can give antibiotics and antiinflammatories together with Panacur.

The time frame is not the same for all cases of EC. It’s highly individual. The bun’s immune system continously battles with the EC parasite and antibiotics for any comorbidity will help the body’s own immune system fight the EC. Antiinflammatories are important too, because…[Read more]

I made a dig box out of shredded paper for my bun. She did start going to the bathroom in it, which wasn’t good though. You could try using Carefresh in your bun’s dig box and see how that turns out instead of using soil?

You definitely don’t have to rush her to the vet for this!

It’s great that she eats a lot of hay! Supreme Science selective is a premium British rabbit food. I have used it for my buns and I use other products they make. Your bun could of course still be sensitive to some ingredient in the food, but from the look of the cecotrope I’d say she’s…[Read more]

Ooooh, I love Seal’s name! I don’t really have any good ideas for your situation, but seeing your sweet bun just bought back some memories. I lost my bun, Binkie, to GI stasis a few months ago and she looked exactly like him ♡ 🙁

    Thank you!

Had our visit to the vet and I think he thought I had rabbit munchhausens as Heidi only had surgery in September ha. He said buns urine can be different shades etc and asked why I thought she was incontinent (he’s an absolutely lovely vet don’t get me wrong! But I think he was struggling to suggest anything). But then he took heidi in…[Read more]

The 5 second rule hahaha. Okay and one last question do you think it could just happen suddenly? That she is healthy, nothing changed and now she always every evening leaves one in litter?

I just want to be little sure I don’t have to rush to vet or that something is wrong.

What kind of mites are they? Fur mites? Ear mites?

If you treat with Revolution, there will be some effect on the environment via the shedding of dander. I wouldn’t worry too much about hay or willow-based products… which I’m assuming these items are? If they are washable, then go for it. Otherwise, they shouldn’t really serve as a source for…[Read more]

Considering the absence of coughing, discharge from within (as opposed to excess being smeared around), and general respiratory sounds, he is likely fine and didn’t aspirate anything.

You can see here for some more in-depth information re: rabbits choking: https://wabbitwiki.com/wiki/First_aid_for_rabbits#Choking … again, it sounds like none of…[Read more]

Hi everyone! I have a 2 year old neutered male lionhead named Mickey that I absolutely love to death. He was having some stomach issues today (gas, small poops, etc.) so I gave him 1 cc of Simethicone (baby gas drops) to help. He is so hard to give medications to because he is so squirmy and he flinches when you get the syringe near his mouth. I…[Read more]

Hello, I got these in my hay and I was wondering what kind of weeds and/or flower these are.

I’ve googled them but i’m not sure what these are.

I think the flower is dandelion, I just want to be safe and sure that it is okay to feed my buns these!

There’s also thistle, but it so prickly, I usually throw them away.

    Thank you.

Rabbits are very picky eaters. One thing I was taught in college while getting my Animal Science degree is to smell the hay. If it smells sweet rabbits tend to like it. A lot of time you just need to fluff it and add some toppers to encourage them to eat it.

It depends on the mites. Some can live in the environment for a little while, some don’t do so well. The first step is to treat her with the appropriate treatment, which is usually ivermectin or Revolution… but it effectiveness can vary depending on the type of mite.

PSA: Just a remind not to use anything with fipronil. It’s toxic to rabbits.
