Oh really? Doesn’t matter the consistency of them, color or smell?

Yeah, I used a very large tray thinking they would see it more as a “hay station” vs a litter box, but with this I’ll just do 2 stations of hay on a puppy pad to start tomorrow. Having 2 should help too I think.. It will be easier to clean for a long day/ marathon also!

Oooh, one thing is I usually don’t add hay trays or litter boxes until they are doing really well together. They do tend to cause disputes, as you noticed, but it’s really good they were able to share the tray a little! I usually just put down puppy pee pads with big pile of hay in the middle. It’s definitely kind of a mess unfortunately.

Those poops all look perfectly normal to me!

Sorry to bother but I have just found these in the litter box. Some of them are normal and other are moister and darker than usual. There is hay in it but they are moist inside and outside. Oh I forgot, at one point they were both on the hay tray eating together, so it was very back and forth with positive/ negative until by the end Maxwell gave up trying and she was getting possessive, etc.

I made a dig box out of shredded paper for my bun. She did start going to the bathroom in it, which wasn’t good though. You could try using Carefresh in your bun’s dig box and see how that turns out instead of using soil?

You definitely don’t have to rush her to the vet for this!

What kind of mites are they? Fur mites? Ear mites?

If you treat with Revolution, there will be some effect on the environment via the shedding of dander. I wouldn’t worry too much about hay or willow-based products… which I’m assuming these items are? If they are washable, then go for it.
