When my cinnibun was little I had one with wire mesh but she was getting sore hocks, I then switched to plastic grating but she barely used it.

I’m very sorry for your loss of Miffy. 🙁 It is so hard when there is not good veterinary care available, it’s awful feeling so helpless.
When a rabbit stops eating it can be symptom of many things, but they are all quite serious. Because rabbits hide their symptoms well, we often don’t notice until things are very bad. GI stasis occurs when the…[Read more]

It sounds like they are doing well and are communicating! Now patience is the name of the game. 🙂

Aww that’s such a bummer. I had a very similar experience when I tried to marathon to bond a trio. The two girls were behaving really similar to what you describe, where there was just no way I could handle an overnight.
I think it’s good you have an option to swap, but I personally would try some stressing before resorting to that (especially…[Read more]

I use a litter box screen. I’ve used both the wire mesh kind that are sold in the Binky Bunny store, as well as homemade wire ones. I put a fluffy hay layer on top so it is soft on their feet. I’ve never had any problems with my buns hocks while using the wire mesh.
I have recently switched to plastic knitting mesh. It’s a little more annoying to…[Read more]

Just to chime in, the seed head part doesn’t look like plantain to me, but maybe I’ve never seen it that mature?

Well the marathon didn’t go forward 🙁 There was no way I could trust them even if I slept in the kitchen. I pushed to 12 hours though. The session was mostly them far from each other doing their own thing, but almost each time Maxwell got too close Ruby nipped. Once, I had to stop a full blown fight. I put my gloved hand in front of Maxwell j…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic Rabbit loud tooth grinding or clicking. Vet didn't find any problems. in the forum BEHAVIOR 4 years, 8 months ago
They can also grind their teeth as an expression of frustration. From my experience though, it is just a single tooth grind followed by a foot flick. Haha! So yes, this could just be loud purring, especially if your bunny is doing it while lounging.

Thank you for the reply, this makes me feel a lot better. Every time I heard her grinding I got so worried she was in pain but everything is pointing to her just being very loudly with being content lol. Thanks again for the reply!

Very sorry to hear about your loss Ellie. Breintje sounded like a wonderful soul and such a treasured bun to have around!
What a beautiful tribute you have written for him here.
It sounds like he had the best life and was very happy and lovingly bonded to you!
Good luck with your new floofs!

Hello again!
Thanks for your continued advice 🙂
I moved them back to bathroom bond for the time being because the mounting was too excessive, they are doing pretty well.
That’s so funny about the parsley thing lol. Actually I often give them parsley forage which I’ve stopped for now to see if it helps! The mounting has become less but they are…[Read more]

Plantain (plantago major) seeds are used by and for humans to make the stools firmer and pass more easily (yes, gross, but still…). Rabbits shouldnt be fed the seeds only (theyre sold in stores as a natural stomach aid for humans, and a type of “flour” made from ground seeds is popular as a flour replacement for gluten-allergics and people who…[Read more]

Put a wire grate over the litter. However, this wouldn’t be a good idea if your buns are prone to sore hocks.

I’m so sorry for your loss. ❤ It sort of sounds like GI stasis, but there are no guarantees.

It will probably come out shedding or him grooming himself, nothing to worry about.

M cinnibun won’t stop digging in the litter box. She digs and pushes it out. Most of the bedding and hay ends up on the cage floor. Any ways to stop this? I tried giving her other things to dig on but she still chooses her litter box, ugh.
