You can rinse the eye with saline or eye wash for humans in case sth is stuck, like a hair or some hay chaff. I wish my employer gave the pet insurance option, even a small discount would help! I think overall, like most insurance, it could go either way and depends what it covers, etc. I’m not sure I’d put a rabbit through surgery due to low survival rates and the trauma.. everything is situational though so I may look into Nationwide. I don’t have any experience with this, but I think a lot boils down to your vet’s experience level and your financial ability. Is there any risk associated with doing the EKG? I’m not that familiar with the procedure.

Man I wish I could have you come to Santa Barbara to adopt, the rescue there is fully at capacity. The volunteers are struggling, and they’ve had to put in a wait list for intakes for the first time ever!

At six years old, my first Guinea Pig was a PEW, Gina, followed by my first rabbit, a PEW Netherland Dwarf, Tiny Tim.  So, I’ve always loved them.  Don’t understand the “it’s creepy” thing!

Does your local shelter/rescue adopt out fixed buns?  That might be a place to start for a rabbit vet.
