At this point, there’s no way to ascertain if she’s pregnant right now– it is possible since it only takes 3 seconds for a male to impregnate a female, and I believe 4mo is a viable age of pregnancy for a female. You should assume that she may be pregnant, so please monitor her behavior moving forward and when signs seem to show, book a vet…[Read more]

The official bonding process should occur when both rabbits have reached one-month-post their respective neuter/spay — note a male can still impregnate an intact doe up to 6 weeks after a neuter, so make sure the separation is definitive during the time he’s neutered and she is not yet spayed.

As you mention, baby bonds are not true bonds so…[Read more]

Guinea pigs and rabbits do need to be housed completely separately with no interactions — that is the most cautious and safe approach as not only are there behavioral concerns, but there are bacterial/illness-related concerns re: guinea pigs and rabbits, despite some images on social media showing them co-habitating. A quote from RWAF: “Guinea…[Read more]

Hi there 🙂 I am new here and looking at getting a rabbit after Christmas as lots of people dump rabbits or need to Rehome after the Christmas impulse 😔

It will be free roamed and have lots of research done on it before I make any Commitments, I have owned two rabbits previously Harry and Ginger so know a quite a bits about rabbits as I really…[Read more]

A little bit of good news since he ate a very little hay on its own around 11am then 12pm and 4pm it’s little to the point it’s not safe to stop syringe feeding so I syringe feed him I did not remove the pellets but I put a lot of mince 2nd cut hay to the point I can’t almost see the feed I mushed. I gave him 2ml of it around 4pm and 2.5 at 9am. I…[Read more]

I haven’t seen any drastic hair loss.  Only the usual individual fur flying like my other two bunnies.  The crust/scab is gone, and she hasn’t grown anything new.  She also acts normally.  I’m not sure what it was, but I think it’s not serious.

I have three New Zealand bunnies: two girls and a boy.  They are all about 4 months old.  They are still too young to receive neutering and spaying, so my family and I separated them using X-pens.  While I was cleaning one of my girls’ pen, I forgot to close her gate and she jumped into my male’s pen.  They hid inside of a wooden tunnel, and I c…[Read more]

I’m looking into the possibility of getting a PB pup.

My biggest concern is that strong terrier temperament and the rabbits.  They are in a cage/pen combo, but it would hardly be Pittie proof.

Obviously, stronger puppy training required, but is it doable.

I agree with the others. There is no harm in treating for mites even if the vet couldn’t see any. Revolution or ivermectin would be your best bets. They are safe for rabbits and generally effective. Advantage is safe too, but not effective against certain mites.

Rabbits can take antihistamines. The most common kind that is used is Children’s…[Read more]

Ivermectin is considered safe. Medirabbit does address ivermectin use in pregnant mammals here: http://www.medirabbit.com/Safe_medication/Anti_parasitics/Ivermec.htm.

You do want to be careful though. I don’t know what kind you are using, but overdoses happen more often when trying to dose down from a formula meant for a large animal (horse,…[Read more]

Mucus does not necessarily mean there is bacteria. It is a sign of inflammation. The inflammation may or may not be from a bacterial infection. I agree about the poultry feed. That is likely the cause of all of the digestive issues. That stuff is not formulated for rabbits. It has a lot of starch in it, which is not good for rabbits to eat.…[Read more]

Thank you, and you’re welcome ^_^

It’s likely that one of his parents is a Nethie, because of his small size. Besides pygmy rabbits there are few breeds that are below 1,5 kg, so there is some Nethie in there. It does happen that mixes don’t show much of one parent. Owen and Molly are definitely descended from a Nethie mother, but only Molly is…[Read more]

Hi everyone! I have 4 bunnies: Bear (Female, Senior), Sage (Male, 3 years old), Bodhi (Male, 1 year), and Salem (Male, 1 year). Bear and Sage are bonded, but Sage has been a bit more territorial since started the bonding process with all 4, so I wouldn’t say the bond is super strong right now. I don’t know where to start with bonding. Honestly,…[Read more]
