Hmm, I hope so. I do give her fresh greens freshly rinsed in the morning and evening. She has a recheck appointment on the 3rd and I’ll talk to her vet and see what he recommends.
Thank you so much for the replies.
Happy Holidays!

Did you get a hampster for Christmas? You can look at Victoria Raechel’s YouTube channel, she has great information on hampsters.

The more buns in the mix, the more personality comparability matters so something you’ll need to accept is the chance that these four will not work as a quad and having 2 bonded pairs may be a fine compromise, or a trio and a single (if one of the rabbits does not seem particularly keen on bonding, which some rabbits do do fine as singles with…[Read more]

As long as the poop is ample in amount and look plump and fine, shes not dehydrated. If she gets fresh greens she might very well be getting the fluids she need. If not, maybe your vet would be willing to prescribe more sub q fluids? One of our moderators (LPT) gave one of her buns sub q fluids for a very long time. The bun (Bindi-Loo) became very…[Read more]

Yes, you would use a dog or cat formula of Revolution (selamectin). That is all that is available. It is sold in either 60mg/L or 120mg/L formulas. Most people buy the 60mg/L formula, but either will work as long as you get the dosage right. Here is a calculator you can use: https://www.vgr1.com/revolution/#calc
You simply enter your bunny’s…[Read more]

What dose ivermectin did the cslculator give you? I’m not a vet and I cant give veterinary advice, everything we say her is still up to you to double check and you must use your own best judgement. I’d be happy to try and help calculate the proper dose according to what Medirabbit recommends, but it will still be a non-vet calculation.
As LBJ…[Read more]

Her poop looks nice, plump and round. She was peeing a lot with her subQ fluids. Now not so much. She peed 2-3 times yesterday and has yet to pee today.

It is very weird. How does her poop look? Is she peeing?

Vets in my country that specialize in rabbits are extremely hard to find, so far I only found 3 vets that specialize in rabbits. But sadly, they are too far away from me. So I’m basically all on my own here, would feeding them below the recommended dosage be considered “safer” and would it still have the same effect? I tried searching for…[Read more]

Yes she is still taking Meloxidyl and Gabapentin two times a day. She’s otherwise normal and happy. I let her out of her pen for 15 minute playtimes and she’s Binkying and happy. I don’t know why she is refusing to drink.

Could she perhaps need more pain meds? Rabbits are very pain-sensitive and they tolerate quite high doses of oain meds, particularly meloxicam. Is she on any medication now?

Oh, perfect! I got a fire striker and have been practicing during the day 🤣 And finally, 8.10 pm, I managed to start a fire in my moms garden 😂
(A small fire that I stamped out as soon as I’d taken pics of it!)

I just got through her Sub Q fluids. The vet gave me enough to administer at home for 10 days. But now, yet again, she’s not drinking. She has a fountain, a bowl, and two different water bottles in her pen. I’ve tried all different temperatures from so many different sources (sink, fridge, filtered). She didn’t even want the hay tea.
I’m lost on…[Read more]

Hi, we are now through 2 longer sessions, one 4 hour and one 8 hour!
There is one new concerning behavior. Ruby, maybe in defiance, will now only groom at Maxwell’s eyes, and looks very rough. He eye lids/ around his eyes were getting red and possibly pulling a little of the eyelashes out. Max would flinch here and there, but still let her.…[Read more]

Personal experience likely won’t be helpful honestly in you making this decision — there are probably examples online of people with pit bulls cohabitating with rabbits and then examples where it has not worked. It is up to the personality and training that the particular pit bull you choose has. In all circumstances, you must be prepared for…[Read more]
