Ahh bummer! Steps forward and back are pretty par for the course with bonding. I have never had any luck with small space bonding. My idea on this is that when an animal is frightened, their options are typically “fight or flight”. In a small space, they have no room to flee, so fighting happens quickly in many cases.

Yes! Pine pellets are the best!

As long as it’s grass hay (no alfalfa mixed in) and seems fresh (doesn’t smell musty), then it’s fine!

I buy bales of hay for my buns (I have 4!) and they love it. Mine honestly snub the oxbow hay whenever I’ve had to get some in a pinch.

We also use science selective because our vet recommends. Our previous brand is Oxbow. Both seems pretty ok. The key is to not to give too much or they eat less hay and get more stomach problems.

Just to back up what others have said I’ve had my boy on a table spoon of pellets a day (8 single pellets in the morning and a pinch of a pellet forage in the evening) for years now and hes been very healthy! If the dewormer doesn’t help it could be as LBJ suggested, arthritis.

I previously had a bun approaching 5 who developed arthritis fairly suddenly and it presented in a persistant hing leg limp and hesitancy to move too much and jump. Daily pain meds help her a lot to move more often and even frolic but her limp never really went away.

As Azerane say, e cuniculi does come to mind when hind end weakness is discussed. EC is an intracellular parasite that buns often get from their mum while they’re still in the womb. It often lies dormant for many years, sometimes the entire life.
