Omg, just opened this thread on my laptop (I mostly use my mobile) and was practically blinded by this insane amount of cuteness! 😀

I tend to look up the nutritional information for each green that I’m feeding, rather than rely on existing lists. I like to check and double check things 🙂
In addition to others mentioned, I also feed raddichio, sometimes fennel. They are both low calcium.

Perhaps there is a food that you are giving in the morning that makes him a little uncomfortable until later in the day? 7 hours is a fairly long time without pooping.
If you’re home during the day, try topping up the hay rack around 1pm, that usually inspires my two to jump into the litter tray and have a chew to get things moving.

Collards and kale are higher in calcium than bok choy, but I wouldn’t consider them high calcium. I guess we need to define what “low calcium” means. LOLÂ In terms of people, I think they consider anything (vegetable-wise) with less than 100mg per cup to be “low calcium”. Where should we draw the line for rabbits?
I found this article too. It…[Read more]

Yes definitely. I wouldn’t advocate for it in normal circumstances, but it’s definitely OK in a case where it is medically necessary.

Aside from giving them more time (which may be the most important), you could try making the space a bit smaller if it’s large. I do tend to like large spaces for bonding, but you don’t want the space to be so big they can claim opposite sides and not interact (especially at this phase).
Also, try not to be too involved at this point in terms of…[Read more]

Sorry to contradict LBJ10 but collards and kale are relatively high in calcium. Bok choy is a bit lower though.
Here’s an older article that lists calcium content in various veggies (kale and collards are listed as “good” sources of calcium in this case, as the focus was on providing…[Read more]

Hi, how is Fuji doing? I’ve just been through a heart disease diagnosis/attempt at treatment and I would love to hear how it went/is going for your bun.

Hi, I’m so, so sorry you’re experiencing this and I hope Buffy is hanging in there. I finally joined this forum specifically to respond to your post, because I’ve been looking for this kind of information over the past couple months. I hope any of this is helpful or relevant to you or anyone else.

I wish we had winters like that. LOLÂ Let’s see 10-15C is about 50-60F. Yeah, that would be pretty nice! We do get some “warmer” winter days where it will be in the 50s, but those are just sprinkled here and there. We will also have stretches with extremely cold temperatures. It will be single digits or even below 0F. It sucks because it will be…[Read more]

@BunnyLass: yay, sounds like progress 🙂 It’s such a great feeling when they become more comfortable around you, even if it’s with baby steps
@Dana: Happy that everybunny had it now!
@Azerane: ah, yes, I can imagine that it feels cold when you’re used to warmer weather. Sounds like Australia would work wonders for my rheumatic illness.

@LBJ10 I don’t think it’s that, it’s closer to Myosotis Arvensis but not as fuzzy on the stems. Today it got over 100°F for us.

Yes, you can have a healthy bunny on a hay and pellet diet. You can help add some interest with hay toppers like dried herbs.
